hi! i found a program i think it could help you. STOIK video converter 1.1 This program converts AVI and WMV files. You can use it to change fps, frame size and compression codecs for video streams. Alter the sampling depth, frequency and number for an audio stream. This program also detects scene changes and splits video by episodes. You can export scene clips and scene-separated project for VideoMan. It's freeware so you should not have "water" problems that you usually have with sharewares... tell me if it works.

"Note: If your computer is part of a domain (a group of computers on a network), your security settings are typically managed by your network administrator. In this case, the Security Center does not display your security status or send alerts."that could be the reason. if it's not i think you could uninstall SP2 and install it again, always works...

Do You like POPUP Ads even though they pay more?
mingos replied to OpaQue's topic in Online Advertising
i think everyone hates pop-ups but we're forgetting important features a pop-up can give a site.view a certain article, a little info or a complementary photo in a small window is more confortable than seeing it in big window. some sites even pop a small window when you're asked to login and that's a way of not taking you away from what you were doing and saves you time. as almost everything else in life, when well used, a popup can be very usefull and pratical. if you build sites: use popups wisely, dont waste them with adds... -

a friend of mine got one for Xmas. now everything is digital. today's MD's come with "hard disk" (a regular flash disk pen). you can quickly transfer music to the MD (5min of music in 5sec) from a computer. the MD's software lets you also transfer music from others devices (old casset players or cd players) trough analogic cable or just use a microphone. the md is capable to encode in mp3, wav, wma and sony's aclaimed atrac3plus. of course you can transfer files to and from the pc, just connect with a regular usb cable and instantly your computer will pop "new usb mass storage device". so this means you can also carry files on your MD... i've done it lots of time with my old nokia 5510...

ad-aware is the program i use. it's free and always updated. i preffer to keep it quiet and do a full scan once on a while but who uses it always doesn't complain, i think. if you'd like to try it visit Lavasoft's Ad-Aware SE and let me know your opinion. there are other good programs like "Pest Patrol" and "GIANT anti-spyware". the first one it's a bit expensive, sometimes heavy and anoying but is the most secure and the second was bought by Microsoft and it's not known if they are going to make software or freeware...

Yes, they are doing a good job. i liked the way they filter and sort the keywords but the feature i liked best was the option of open a search result in a new window with just a click on an icon. i'm used to do this manually because not always we find want we want at the first click. let's hope they continue to improve as they are now...

believe me, the programs works great. everything is costumizable and the program will sugest if the change is good bad or "fishy". if the program doesn't know, there's a button that will lead you to google with a search about the matter. Also when you are selecting/unselecting a program or start up you can check on google if it's a trojan with just a click. It also make possible to ban a registry entry (good for trojan that make copys of it self). the site is working good...

Have your anti-virus failed? are you full of trojans? and now your computer has your settings all changed? it happened to me... but i found a program that completes my anti-virus, a kind of "Settings Firewall". every time anything is changed (desktop, internet conections, startup) it warns you and let you decide to allow or reset the change. It has a sort of usefull tools to keep your computer running well and it also block "web bugs". this is good because if your antivirus fails, GSH will catch all the changes a virus/trojan does to your computer and let you reset them. i think it is the best software you can buy for $20... give it a click

i use Trend Micro Office Scan because my college provides it to me for free and i thank. sometimes my pc gets slow because of it due to the real time scan fuction. it's always scaning and when scaning big files it takes a lot of memory... apart from that is excellent, always updated and alert, Trend Micro works really good on fighting new virus and trojans. anyway, if i had to buy an antivirus, i wouldn't. AVG works good for free and combined with programs like Lavasoft ad-Aware (free) and Geek Super Hero($25 - 20) you're 99% safe if you don't know Geek Super Hero (from the authors of Getright) and what it can do for you, take a time to visit the site...

well, i use MMC but only because it was the first cards to show up. they were "sponsered" by giants like Nokia and so on. My mobile phone use them so i'm forced to keep sticked to it... SD's are so much better: they read/write from 10 to 20Mb/s when MMC read at 1Mb/s and write at 200Kb/s. There are other advantages like dimensions and weight but all the cards are small and it comes to be irrelevant. Nokia i now starting to use SD's too, so, as soon as i get a new phone i'll say goodbye to my MMC's...
