  2. There aren't enough simple questions who are fast to answer! :-)
  3. now if you are a java beginner you sould use a simple texteditor to understand the whole language. If you have some practice with Java you could youse Eclipse witch is a comple IDE and is very good (so think I). Eclipse take lots of work from you and you could than conzentrate more on the specific thinks of your projekt.
  4. If you want to have a chat you can download a servlet which provides you with this option. You can put the chat everywhere you want! You must have a Servlet Container and a JSP Engine like Tomcat behind your Webserver!

  6. I use the IE becouse most websites are compatible with it, it's easy to use and starts up faster than any other Browser. I know Mozilla and Firefox have the option to keep chached but it needs lots of memory!
  7. I think you sould first learn HTML becouse you use it to display informations generated with PHP! You cant learn PHP without basic understanding of HTML.

    If you are installin java it asks you if you want to use Sun's java or the standard Java which comes with the IE. If you want's to use Sun's you must check this option douring the installation.
  9. now if you are new in Java, you sould have a look at www.java.sun.com; For beginners its often difficult to find the right tutorials and documentations but its worth to spend some time ind searching on this site! You can also find some programming samples on this site with the comple sourcecode. http://javaranch.com/should also have some codes!
  10. If you want to run your Programm under Windows, you should try JSmothGen! Its open source and it generates an exe file whitch then locates the JVM in the system and starts teh specific class file which inherits the main method!
