mozilla firefox 1.0 pr is the best and fastest. it is like a better version of IE with pop up block and much more. I highly recommend it.

I currently use aim yahoo and msn messenger. these are some of the best. MSN is used my most people. It has worked well for me up to now. I also have msn plus installed and it is great. it has prerecorded phrases. ...give it a try.

The question u have to ask your self is how long do you intend to keep and use this computer. Computers usually get outdated in hardware performance in 2-3 years. I have a 2.4 ghz computer and right now it is a normal or a little above normal stat. Speed and ram are all that matter as for the other parts you can change them and buy new parts if your motherboard can support them. The speed (CPU) is what constricts people to buy new computers as the motherboards can handle up to a certain speed.Considering this the decision is up to you...use it for 3d design, web editing, to watch movies, movie editing etc. don't waste the power you have in your hands.

Also if you use browsers like mozzila firefox it blocks pop ups for you. Try using a firewall too.Zone Alarm has a good pop up block.

Ok i just found the answer to the problem. If it says connection refused try reinstalling internet explorer. For me it worked. There is a probability that your internet explorer has some error that affects mozilla firefox. I reinstalled internet explorer 6 and then restarted. After i noticed that all the programs that had trouble connecting connected without difficulty. This might happen from an upgrade from an older to a newer windows.This browser is so unbelievebly fast you have to try it...

So what do you think windows long horn is going to be like? its true that there are beta copies out on the net but i don't want to take a chance. also when it comes out i will wait a while before geting it. Let others test it and if there are problems with it i stick with my old windows.

The one and only that i use and is recomended by bell sympatico technicians is ad-aware. You should get 6 because it is the latest one and update it. It removes most of them. But no program will remove 100% of the spy ware most programs only remove about 33%. use norton or mcafee too.

ok......also mcafee is always scaning ur computer and it slows it down but norton scans it only when you are not using it......but i think mcafee is more stable than norton... i had bad experiences with norton

I'm having a problem with mine. It says connection refused. ok i just found out it wasn't firefox's fault it was IE who was doing it. chack under for solution...

The first i would suggest is Norton and the second its Mcafee....rumor is that they are the same company.

I heard that firefox is a good browser as well because it is like explorer with less errors and pop up blocking..

Is it worth downloading.....how much space does it take.? I want to know because i had it and it filled up like 6 gb of space. Also i didn't see anything special about it. I know its supposed to have many new features.

i have not heard of total commander but winrar and win ace are good. Though have you noticed that they do not compress all types of files? Some files stay the same in size when compressed and some even increase.What is the problem?....

I agree that outlook is useful because it can check hotmail but can it check yahoo mail? I use it because it comes with internet explorer and it is handy. It also has a junk mail filter.
