This must be because there aren't javascript, but jscript, a proprietary language for IE. Post the scripts here, and we'll see where is the bug... If there are real javascript, they should work on Firefox. On other side, all webmasters know that IE has lot of bugs with javascript, and some really important javascript functions are still not implemented in IE... No. I'm not good enought... -

No.Alt attribute is only used when image can't be displayed (for example for text browser) If a browser displays the alt attribute in a tooltip, that is a bug. Tooltips are only done with title attributes Mozilla has a far better support for javascript than IE... -
No : IE popup blocker isn't efficient. And it doesn't remove all the hudge security holes of this deprecated browser, allowing spywares to install on your system. There is no way keeping IE, all experts ask users to drop this buggy browser...

The best way to get ride of those silly scripts is to use a modern browser (like Mozilla) : you'll keep all your clicks.

You have to choose the CSS solution. All presentation must be done by CSS. Bold is only presentation, so it must be realised by CSS. (X)HTML is only for semantic. For example you can specify that your text is important puting it between <strong> tags. That would be much more interesting than using bold, because a text client and an oral client will ignore the bold, but not the strong (for example, the oral will insist on this text...)

If you want a good browser, you really have choice : Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox, Netscape, Epiphany, Galeon...They all use the Gecko engine, which is currently the best render engine.

Yes : use 7-zip instead of winRAR.7-zip is an open format : everybody can read it.WinRAR produces RAR file, which is a closed and patented format : you have to pay to read it, and your compressed files depend from a company....
