A good graphics card for that price would the a 6600GT or 6800GS....He may also want to look into teh new 7600GT, as theyre a good all-around card at this time....

I tried downloading that...olitle did I know it required WGA...I guess my version of XP isnt legal...

I use mine for everything....Webdesign, gaming, news(digg.com is the best), talking to friends, running my buisness,audio editing for my band, video editing for fun and special requests, idk...I just do everything on my computer

As of right now, the PS3 should be considered vaproware. Their new ystem calls for a Blu-Ray drive, but Blu-Ray hasnt been decided on as the new standard yet, and they dont have enough to send out to consumers who wat the drives, and consumers who want the PS3....I am looking forward to seeing the CELL processor in action though....After ive heard such good things about it....

i didnt read all the replys, so someone might have already said this...check your AC outlet, and make sure your getting good power soming through...or your surge protector...also, check the cabling for your power switch...they might be loose and have caused a short...or, pop in a new PSU...300W is cuttin it pretty close for what you stated there...

just recently, I built a computer with parts from my A+ class, it runs 3.1 its pretty tight....

before that, I bet octi-core processors will reign...you can already get a pretty good overclock on the intel P4 EE....

I just use avast and my router...togeather, theyre the best...oh, and I have MS antispyware, AD-Aware SE, CCleaner, and all sorts of stuff like that...but my best protection:not clicking on the FREE PORN links in my spam folder....In my opinion, you have to be pretty stupid to get a totally infected system....

they dont even sell Win 98 now...I had to get it off limewire when I built a computer out of spare parts a few weeks ago... its just impossible to find it froma good reseller! My advice would be to use 2000 instead of 98 if you HAVE to use either at all...

my router has a built-in firewall...but im not so sure how good it is... so Im using a mixture of Avast Anti-Virus, MS Antispyware, and and Ad-Aware SE....just in case anything sneaks by...

umm...you should be able to run all Win98 games and stuff on XP...its the 95 stuff that struggles...

the real question, is your vid card capable of Aero Glass? Anything above an FX 5200 should be fine for it.....but if you have a dell or HP< chances are its an onboard vid card, or a really crappy one inside...but ya, 1GB is what your gonna want for Vista...maybe even 2GB like me....

BF2 has to be one of the best games out right now. If you havent played it, get it(if your computer is capable)... Notice from BuffaloHELP: Xisto forum asks you to post contributes with substance.

There is not any good way to compare an AMD processor to an Intel processor...A 2.6GHZ AMD x2 4800 could OWN a 3.8GHZ P4....anyway....id suggest the following:AMD Athlon 64 3200+(Venice core)MSI K8N Neo4-Fel chepo antec case....1GB(2x512MB)Corsair XMS RAMcheap CD/DVD burner120GB SATA HDDnvidia 6600GT?
