Some issues and questions: I have followed all the instructions on activating my account, but it will simply not activate. I have changed the e-mail twice, and the password twice. I have done steps 1-4. I never got a PM but I just used the username and password I put in the request system and it worked. I belong to a gaming clan. Our web host is way to expensive - can I host a gaming site at Xisto.com with an IPB 2.0.0 trial board? BTW, Xisto could get lots of hits off this. I know this is not the correct forum, but can I get my domain changed from mystuff.trap17.com to htclan.trap17.com? The cPanel script won't work. Thanks for the help, Defiant

About Ipb Trial 2.0 Legality, Registering, etc
htdefiant replied to htdefiant's topic in Websites and Web Designing
:breaths sigh of relief: Hello, Thank goodness. Our congregation can still use our board. I am still confused though. What is the issue at Xisto.com? Can we not do that here? Thanks guys. That's fine. We always recommend that you upgrade anyway because the older versions of IPB are no longer secure and there are no security patches released for them. About Ipb Trial 2.0 Legality, Registering, etc
htdefiant replied to htdefiant's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Ok...but lets keep in mind it is still legal. I did download it when it was legal so I am not required to get a licence. IPS recommends this to they can sell you more stuff. Note: you cannot share the 2.0.0 trial files with anyone, that is illegal. -
There are many non-religious private schools. We are all required to take religion courses. Here are the religious demographics for our school: 45% Protestant 15% Jewish 13% Islamic 10% Bhuddist 7% Catholic 5% Hindu 5% Other I do not brag about attending a private school Race-Wise: 40% White 40% Black/African American 11% South/Central America 5% Asian 4% Other I don't understand how anwiii can tell me I am "plain wrong" about economic diversity when I attend the school and he does not. In terms of free time, today is a perfect example. We have Regular Weeks and Alternate Weeks, with Blocks on wed. and thur. Today was an alternate Thursday. My schedule was: B Block- Health, CPR Advisory G Block- History E Period- French Assembly Lunch D Block- Study Hall Today was the last day before spring break for us. So, I had no HW to work on. We all went outside and did whatever we wanted. As for at home HW, I usually spend 1 hour-1.h hours on school work. any other examples you guys want?

I had a chat with IPS in November 05...I wish I could find the e-mail. They said that me using IPB 2.0 Trial opensource was fully legal. They said that I did not have to register with IPS, only notified me that 2.0 trial has some security issues. Because of that discussion, my synagogue continues to use IPB 2.0. Again, it is not pirated, it is fully legal, and does not need any licence. I would like to clear up that issue.

I don't understand why everyone is saying private schools have no diversity. It's not like everyone can afford to pay the school tuition that goes to my school. My parents can, but I know kids whose parents make as much income as the school tuition costs, hoping that this way they can get their kids a better education. Our school pride's itself in its social, religious, racial, and economical diversites. In terms of public schools being a "good education", I've heard it just depends where you live. I went to public school until 3rd grade, so I do know "both worlds". They have their advantages and disadvanges.

Wow. Talk about sterotypes and generalizations to the max. I go to private school. My school is in the top 10 acedemic and athletic private schools in the state of Virginia. Some facts you should know: We have no school laptops. We have 20-23 person classes. We play every sport most public schools do, and we are number one in the state in Football (american), tennis, and track. We don't have uniforms. I don't think I am better then a person who goes to public school. I think a lot of people think "we" think that. But, acedemically, there is some basis in fact. Not because of the intelligence of the students, but the quality of teachers. Do I have a "cursed attitude"? My parents' families were lower class citizens. My parents worked their tails off to get way up to this monetary level. Why can they not send me to a school where I am almost guaranteed a good education?

Hopefully, SouthWest will come to Richmond some time soon...JetBlue is coming in March. -
This will be a long post so get ready The Trip There It is 6:15 a.m. in Richmond, Virginia, United States of America. My alarm rings, you know, one of those obnoxious ones. I am very excited, because I am on my way to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, United States of America, to play 45 holes of golf on Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend. I arrive at the airport at 7:00 in the morning for a 8:00 plane. Right on time, yes! We curbside check, and get to the gate at 7:15. A human come on the intercom (not one of those computer voices) and says: That did not make much sense. Anyway, I get on the plane at 7:30 a.m. I say to my father: The kiss of death . At 7:40, the flight attendent says: No one moves. After 10 minutes, the offer is gradually upped to 1000 "delta dollars". They find their voluenteer and that's that. Right? Of course not At 7:50, the gate agent (the same idiot who boarded all the zones at the same time) says (every word exactly): I say to Dad: My dad an I agree we are to hope for the best. Then the flight attendent announces that some smaller bags that can fit overhead and are in the cargo bay will be moved up. I see my small clothing bag come on in the hands of that idiot gate agent. But my dad's small bag does not come up so I figure they took off all they needed. Someone in the front row shouts (to gate agent): I cheer him on Then, the flight attendent, a very nice woman by the way, says that Delta knows that many of the passengers are on crusies and that their bags have not been taken off. I look at my dad, sure that our bags were taken off because most of the passengers were cruise passengers, and out golf bags were heavy. So, pessimisticly, we take off and have a good filght.
We land in Ft. Lauderdale and arrive in the baggage claim. The first two bags that come out are our two golf bags! YAY! But how stupid is that?!?! Anyway, ironicly, the bag left in Richmond is my dad's tiny travel bag. Sorry, but WHAT THE H***? I simply do not understand. Anyway, my dad's bag arrives at our lodging at 6 pm that night. Oh yeah, remember all those cruise people? Half their bags were left in Richmond and they were forced to miss their boats!
Our Golf
We had a great time, I, shooting 93, 91, 45 (9 holes) which is pretty good for me, as I like to play bogey golf at this young point in my career.
The Trip Back I know you are thinking ENOUGH ALREADY, but wait there's more! We are on a connecting flight returning. We are to go from West Palm Beach (30 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale) to Atlanta to Richmond. I hate the Atlanta Airport. Anyway, Out flight is scheduled to leave West Palm at 6:15 p.m. We arrive at the gate at 5:15. The flight is delayed to 7:30. At this point, we are not going to make our connection in Atlanta. I ask dad weather we should just stay in Florida but he points out that we will have more options in Atlanta. I agree, and the plane is suddenly changed to a 7:05 departure time. We board, but don't really get in the air until 7:30. I watch "Walk the Line" on the plane, and try to forget the situation I am in. We land, it is 9:25, our connection is at 9:30, it says closed. Great. We go to the ticketing and rebooking counter. There are fights going on, and police had to intervene in one colose to us. Wow. Anyway, my dad goes up to the agent and says the truth (really, not kidding): The agent explains that the the AirTran and Dulles flights have already left, but she can get us in the Lynchburg flight that leaves in 5 minutes!. My dad, not the fastest of all men, takes all my posessions, and I, getting the queue, begin the 1/4 mile sprint from A termamial to D terminal. I catch the tram, take it to C, where the doors won't close. I run to gate D 26 (the best part was the run up the 3 story elevator). I run up and say "Is this the flight to Lynchburg"? The gate agent says: Are you (my last name, witheld for privacy)? I say yes, and my dad come up about 30 seconds later. To make a Starbucks snack and phone calls stories shorter, I will say that when we arrived at D 26 at 9:45, we did not take off until 11:20. We got to Lynchburg at 12:30 a.m. and drove to Richmond and arrived at 2:30 a.m. Moral of the story: DO NOT FLY DELTA!

Your Suggestions About My Website
htdefiant replied to itssami's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Looks very nice, I like the style and the simplicity. Only suggestion is that you add some more images to the site. -
Have any links for us? Also, Microsoft and its Origami project could compete: https://www.engadget.com/ just not the cell phone part.

How To Read Any Book You Like With The Help Of Google
htdefiant replied to brainet's topic in Search Engines
It's nice. It's easy to read too. Sometimes on those kinds of site the font is impossible to read. This could be helpful in many ways - like if a good book was recommended to you, there is now no need to rent or buy the book online. Good development in online literature but I wonder how google can pay the publishers and get it to us for free at the same time. Or maybe the publishers pay google -
Thanks! Another thing- lets say I check my mail on the web and delete a message. When I return to my home computer with Outlook, where, if at all, will the message be?
-
I am not sure weather this goes under computer software or here...My synagogue runs a website, and I often get the question- "How do I check my mail on Microsoft Outlook 2003?"I have no idea Do I go to: Tools -> Account Settings -> Add New Account then choose a server type? HTTPS or IMAP? Or something else? Also, some data on the synagogue mail server:Incoming POP3 Server mail.domain.orgOutgoing (SMTP) Server mail.domain.orgLogin The e-mail address you use (e.g. user@domain.com)Thanks for the help!
