Synn started following Suse Linux 10.0 Help with Wireless card and Reformatted System, Now Audio Drivers Are Not Found!
-
I recently installed Suse 10.0 on my Laptop, an ibm thinkpad 600x and I ran into a problem with the Wireless card. I'm pretty new to linux but I know a few things and i needed some help. It is a Belkin 806.11b wireless card i believe and its usb. For some reason linux does not find it and I don't know how to install the drivers for it. If anyone could help I would really aprreciate it. If you need any more information just tell me and I'll do my best to get it for you. If anything else could you tell me what kind of wireless card can i buy at the store that isn't to expensive and is supported by linux right out of the box. Thank you.

Personally, as the average consumer(well a little more than average) I want something that looks good and also works good. Well Windows has the first part down but not the second. That is why I perfer I perfer Suse Linux.....it has both down, along with more functionality. I mean Bill doesn't want people buying or using anything for his system without paying him for it. I mean look at how he tries to make you buy a copy of xp for every computer in your house. Thats just crazy...if i buy it once i should be able to put it on all my computers....its like they treat us as thiefs with our own software. I'm a gamer and i'm not going to buy a game that i can only install onto one computer and thats it. I want to install it on any computer i have so that I can play it on all of them. Thats my right as a consume who has purchased the software isn't it. Then it cost so much so its not like I have the money to buy 4 copies. Microsuck can take itself and shove off. I'll stick to linux and the sort. All i need now to make me happy is support for my wireless cards for my laptop and i'll be happy until then i have to use xp on it. And to be truthful I didn't pay for my xp on it I burned a friends copy and use it. Linux is the future.

Resident Evil has always been my favorite games right next to the Zelda franchise. But RE4 on GC is the best GC game I have ever played. It kicks my x-box games too. The game is just so addictive i mean i can easily stay up all night playing it thinking...man school is going to really interfere with my gameing tomorrow. Right now I'm at the castle and just bought the Semi-Auto rifile. I have no idea what is in store for me next but the story line is awesome. I mean I'm hooked to it and can't wait for more of it to be unraveled. I just wonder if it has any connection once-so-ever to racoon city and the older games. I mean if it does that's going to be mindblowing but if it doesn't then thats still kickin. If I didn't have to work so much or go to school i would have beaten the game by now and been working on my second time around. Life is so unfair sometimes. I give this game a 20/10. This is one of those games I will keep forever and every now and again years from now sit down to play.

I can say I hate internet explorer just about as much as I hate Microsoft. I'm a firefox guy all the way...the tabs......the themes......the plugins....the winamp attachement.......man I'm salivating on myself just thinking about it. I love Mozilla Firefox!!!! And I don't get so many pop-ups or anything.....I don't think I've seen a pop-up since i downloaded firefox...as a matter of fact if you don't have it you need to go get it right now....NOW!!!! Go get it....and love it.

I havn't had the chance to play Half-Life 2 yet but I hear great things. I remember watching the review of it on my cable on one of the Game tv shows on tv. I'm alwasy on one or another. It looked awesome! I have alwasy enjoyed the half life games in the past almost as much as I enjoy my resident evil. I bought my x-box from a friend only because it was 90 bucks for it and Fable. So I know how you feel on the regreting the x-box...not many games are worth it....maybe GTA san andreas, Fable, Doom 3, and Halo.....hopefully I will feel the same way for Half-Life 2.

Life after Death Is there a life after death or do we just die? This is a question that has plagued many people from the lowest ladder of society to the highest and smartest. I don't claim to be a scholor or even close to one on the subject, but as everyone else has i have also come up with my own hypothosis if you will on the subject. I'm torn between ideas since I am a practicing Christian and believe there is an Almighty Power that created us and guides us more or less in life. God if that is what you want to call him, which i believe is just a word people have tacted on to the almighty over the years. So to an extent i believe in a heaven but I don't read enough of the bible to understand what heaven is and I don't believe there is a vivid description of it in there. If there is please let me know the passages. On to my belief....I know that even if there isn't a "life after death" in the sense that i'm still me and can see/ hear/ communicate or whatever i know my body will go on to feed the soil which will in a manor or another feed nature as in the animals or the plants and that which helps life prosper and continue on the planet. And that is one thing i see as good in death. I was actually starting this post to inquire on other people's points of view and what they believe(not strictly one reliegion either). I'm very interested in other viewpoints and perspectives and do not want to argue as otehr people do. I simply wish to expand my horizon on religion and the thought of life after death. I hope to hear from you soon! I will most diligently look back to see what was and who has posted in this topic. Thank you

Synn replied to horaceface04's topic in Computer Gaming
I remember playing this game in like 7th grade and i'm a senior right now. This game is awesome and kept me entertained the whole class period(which was like 45 minutes back then) but thats alot for a kid who gets bored with things quickly. Well i'm off tho chase after...hey whats that..... -
The only thing i can say is AWESOME....even though i'm a bigger fan of linux besides for there non support of my wireless cards...other than that....but i think i will invest in Xp Vista though.

Zork....theres plenty of them to go around heres a site to download the first 3 http://www.infocom-if.org/downloads/downloads.html They were really addicting to me and the 3d Zork: the grand inquisitor was just a game i had to have...I actually burned a copy for myself for a while even though it was illegal since the only copy i could find was at the public library....but thank god for ebay. If you havn't played these games i highly recommend them and if you don't like text based games get ahold of the 3d one. These games are strategy/puzzle games and some of the chores you have to solve are really hard. I hope you have many countless hours replaying these games...I know i still do.

How Would You React To Finding Old Games Suddenly?
Synn replied to iGuest's topic in Computer Gaming
The old games are the most addictive....I would perfer to play super mario three than halo 2. Yeah, call me crazy but the classics are better. I would pick Zelda on the NES over Need for Speed black....I still have an snes and it consumes more hours of my life than my x-box or gamecube....the games just have the best replay value...i mean who doesn't have the first level on mario bros. memorized by now? -
Hey , those little creatures in the Pokemon game passed hundreds of coutless hours for me. Yeah i admit i was embarrassed to say "I'm playing pokemon" but eventually i stopped caring when i realized most people play it to pass the time. The only bad thing is how many they come out with...alwasy in a pair...and sometimes three of them.....but...thats the power of greed for money i guess....I think that pokemon leaf green was the best one....just liked it the best.

Hands down the better system is the PSP out of the ds and psp simply because look at all it can do. The PSP is almost a handheld computer while the ds is a fancy paperweight that can play games using a touchscreen. Useless piece of computer technology if your comparing it to the PSP.

Saying Violence is caused by video games is like saying that guns kill people, guns don't kill people they're just the the tool used to commit the crime....if guns weren't around then they would simply use a knife or so. So if you think video games cause violence.......take the time to explain what is right and wrong and moral and immoral to your kids to solve the problem instead of simply trying to pawn your own mistakes off on somenoe else/ something else.
