There seem to be a lot of definitions for the word... the one I like most is this one, from Wikipedia. It implies that geeks work at very knowledgable in the subjects that they choose to learn about, and explains the existence of so many types of geeks, like band geeks and computer geeks. It also makes sense because, according to this definition, geeks can ignore social pressures and/or physical needs (i.e. sleep or food, to an extent) while pursuing this devotion of theirs. By the way, I consider myself a geek too, in more than one category.
I'm not a huge gamer, so I haven't played a lot of RPGs or anything, but I -adored- Knights of the Old Republic. Brilliant storyline, good characters, amazing voice acting, and, come on, the ability to play a JEDI all rolled into one package? Made me very happy, even if the combat system got on my nerves a little. The sequel wasn't that great, though...
I leave my computer on 24/7 -- only turned it off a couple times in the past few years, mostly for protection against power outages. Actually, I've heard from some computer-savvy accquaintances of mine that leaving your computer on is actually better for it than turning it on and off every day, and will help it last longer, as long as the fans and such are in good working order.
It is interesting how most people are either going to say 'summer' or 'winter' when asked that question. Spring and Fall kind of get lost as rainy in-between seasons (in a very general sense, that is).I think summer's the best -- it doesn't get TOO hot around where I live, so it's perfect weather for doing whatever, whether playing outside or staying inside. And of course there's no school. Always a plus.
Found it through TheFanlistings.org -- Xisto.com is listed on a links page as a potential hostee. It sounded good, but the thing that really hooked me was the offer of MySQL databases...
