I guess there are quite a few email services that have 1G or more storage space. But since gmail has google's searching mechanism, it seems cooler. <_<And also, its emails are all like conversations, which is quite different.

Hmm thanks a lot for the link. It's not so easy to understand the code though, but I get the idea.

I might not completely switch to linux, but I will definitely try it.Actually one of my friends told me this issue about no flash editor under linux. Although it's possible to use Macromedia Flash on linux through some Windows emulators, it's a little bit unsafe as well since those emulators can also emulate Windows virii which is certainly not a good thing.

Oh no wonder my hotmail account still has 2mb.I think I signed up about 1 and half years ago.

I last read "The Terminal Experiment" about making three clones of a pretty smart guy in the computer, and about how they escaped into the internet to cause unexpected disturbances. It was interesting because the three clones differed in the sense that one was the "control", another one was the "life-after-death clone", and the other one was the "living-forever clone".

Hey everyone! I'm interested to knowWhat's your favorite artist?Your favorite song? And your favorite album?

Um, is it?I check my hotmail account everyday and it's still not upgraded yet. 2mb is just way too small. I basically can't keep any email that has an attachment size bigger than 200kb. Although gmail is pretty cool with 1GB, the attachment file size limit is 10mb which is not ideal I guess for some people. But thinking about it, attaching a 50mb file would take a while. (also downloading it)

I only have 40 GB on this computer. But it's enough for me for now but I guess I'll need an upgrade soon.

I'm pretty sure there are other email services that offer 1G or even more storage (like 3G) for free. But since gmail has a unique style, a cool user interface and everything else, I would stick to it for sure. Also, I think the fact that google is so famous and is such a good search engine has undoubtedly attracted thousands of people to acquire a gmail account. Besides, this idea of invitation only has added more appeal to gmail since you feel a sense of achievement after you acquire it. At least I did when I got my first gmail.

I have 2 partitions too.C: Win XP with SP2D: Some data and installation files. It feels more organized when you have 2 partitions instead of 1 because at least you can separate some files from the Windows partition. Also, I have D: partly because in case my computer crashes totally, I could format C: and reinstall Windows on it, and at the same time putting all my important files to D: so I don't lose them. It also saves some time downloading all those softwares.

From my personal experience, it's not that you really have to back up your files or stuff, but it's pretty much recommended. I remember when I tried to install other service packs for windows most of them went well. But errors do occur and I got my whole system crashed couple of times. But my processor speed is really slow and it got messed up somehow during the installation. But of course decide for yourself whether you want to make a back up or not. Probably just be patient during the installation since it takes a long time to complete it. (I got impatient once and wanted to cancel but everything went wrong after.)

I have tried hosting on 100webspace and FR&T. Well 100webspace has a relatively good uptime and stuff, but FR&T on the other hand has a very poor uptime although it has cpanel and other features. It's really slow too.Oh yeah, I was going to try get hosted by 000k.net, but then they asked for real address and all the personal infos. I got kind of scared of that. (I think it said on the website that they will phone people to make sure the phone numbers are real! I dunno if they would make international calls as well...)Anyways, I just heard of Xisto and I can't wait to try it out!

I've used phpBB for several months and I find it really easy to manage as well. I agree with the fact that it's relatively easy to install the mods for phpBB. (even for a beginner like me lol)But it's composed of a forum only. So if you are looking for something with more features then it's probably not the best choice. From what I know, phpNuke is a pretty good content management system with lots of easy to use features.

Want to know how a new country is created? Here's a link to the United Kingdom of Atlantis, which I just discovered online. It has history, royal monarchy, constitution, government...It has descriptions of everything!
