OMG, I am old . The very first computer I owned, I got for my 14 or 15th birthday about 1978. It was a timex sinclair 1000. It had 2k ram and used a cassete tape deck to store programs. In case you are wondering what you can do with 2k, not much it took about 2.5 pages of ascii graphics to run out of memory. Here is a link for more info: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Mine was the one on the bottom, and I never managed to get the 16k memory expansion pack (16 kilobytes)!

Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing as believer, I told my wife tonight when the commercial for this new Ipod came on t.v. that there was no way it could be worth it with that tiny screen even if the resolution was great. C'mon apple can do better than this for that price.

Modifying The Robosapien Crazy things people do with their robots
jidun replied to jidun's topic in Science and Technology
Well I really wasn't thinking about the people who really hadn't heard much about them, their official site is here: http://wowwee.com/ They are produced by the wowee corporation. They can be purchased from around $70-$100 usd for the standard models. Try searching http://www.pricegrabber.com/?ut=9538538280d717e0 for some comparative shopping on them if you like. -
Misspelled finished and piece, sorry about that.

That is pretty good. I'll give you a hint and anyone else that may read this may get a good understanding as well. When working with graphics it is a really good idea to increase the size of the image way, way larger than you intend the finishid piece to be. So much larger in fact that you can't even hardly tell where you are without zooming out. For instance if you had enlarged the photo to an extent that only part of the lips showed on your monitor when tracing with the vector layer you would not have had to worry to much about being perfect and when you shrank your vector image down you would easily see near perfection without even sweating it, or even having to have much artistic talent, you have a computer, it is a great tool use it to it's limits. Continue on and you will be able to do a pice like this in less than two hours easy. Good luck. P.S. This trick works with all graphic design images when you really need to get the hard part of the detail work done.

I think robots are cool. I bought my son a robosapien, he's cool and their are people out ther modifying them with fm audio receivers and video transmitters and hand held computers attached to their circuit boards for increased computing power, I even saw one with a mini-blowtorch attached to his back and it made a flamethrower from his left hand through a tube fed through his elbow into his hand. Pretty wild. You can see what I mean here. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I also need to add that there is another site about modifying the robosapien from one of, if not the first known pioneers of robosapien modifications, Jackie Samans here is an article site about some of his work: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Notice from mayank: Merged two posts..make sure to use the REPORT button when you want to add anything in your post which you forgot to add or if you want to change anything in your post..just use the report button and mods will do the needfull.

One solution for this situation might be to make sure you set a cookie for your user when/while they are logged in to your site, then make the PHP check for an authentic user cookie before passing info to the database (this should sift out form searching DOS attack bots) and check for the existence of form already used cookie, then pass form already used cookie 24 hr expire after form is inputted, which lets the script check to see if this user has already entered info in it and redirect them to another page explaing only one per day, or whatever. This should eliminate the need to ban and make the form relatively secure .

I did this in the past and it worked great, I had a broadband connection with very low numbers of simultaneous hits. I used xitami, and I also tried foxserv, I liked them both they were easy. SMTP mail servers are usually set to port 25 and these are mostly blocked by all ISP's now days unless comming from a node center (another reason to just love spammers). Something like this is fine for brochure type or homepage websites, it's a very bad idea for trying to host even a low end 100-200 active member forum based site .

Well, based on what you have stated about the problem thus far i.e., the drive works and you tried two different windows install disks with the same outcome, I'd say you probably have a boot sector (either damaged or set up incorrectly) issue on the raptor drive which could be causing you these troubles when it tries to boot as the main drive and load the os. The solution would be to find a bootsector manager and repair program compatible with your raptor type drive, I am also sure that OEM windows disks don't like to work on drives with existing windows. The boot sectors of drives are generally not rewritten from standard formatting.Hope this helps
