In your opinion what is the best video codec available in terms of video quality. Theoraticaly the best one will be H.264, also known as MPEG4-Layer 10, but I dont believe there is a stable and with the features that make that format better than MPEG-4 (remember that the famous XviD and Divx are MPEG-4 Simple Profile, there may be some MAIN Profile features).Another aspect that I believe to be verry important when deciding which is the best codec, is the processing complexity, on other words the processing power required to encode a video (the encoding is allways the more processing heavy process, the decoding has smaller processing complexity because we dont have to do the calculation of the motion vectors).

Ballons... What's the point? 11Mbps? You allready have WiMax, LMDS, MMDS...etc using towers or rooftops, that provide Broadband using radio interface (wireless). So why the big need for ballons? The problem remains the same, access. So you get the last leg using radio between you house to the ballon, but you still have to conect the ballon to the core network. I still believe that cablestill has a big word in access, think of VSDL, RADSL, DPL. And for Wireless access I would bet on WiMax (for fixe and mobile) mounted in towers.

I dint quite get the explanation. In my understading the real time operating systems were all about application execution time predicability, that I can say the time on execussion of a routine with no error (other than the clock drift of the processor ). I never though of feedback concept in a real time OS like you explained above. I'll have to thing a litle bit more a about this but it promisses to be a good discussion (just like we like it) Regards, electrfunch

Please Help Me Out In Qt Programming In Linux
electrfunch replied to whihathac's topic in Programming
It's been a wile since I programmed QT... If I remember correctly there was a great online book which was called something like "The KDE QT Bible" or something like that (do a google search with that title). About KDE Developer I'm really quite ceptic about it, it's quite messy in my opinion, but I'm the cmd promt + Vi editor kind of guy Returning to KDE if you can handle C++ with some ease you should not have any problem using the Qt libraries, it's quite strait foward stuff. So my advise is to serch that book I mentioned... I would send it to you but I dont have it in this PC I'm on right now. If I dont forget I will post some toturials I found heapfull (don't remember the titles at this moment) in the following site: ask4info.pt.vu ...ohh and if I do forget use the webmaster email in that site and remember me! -

I wonder if WiMax will ever be used for what it was created, mobile high bandwidth access. I we look at all the deployments of WiMax we see that it's only being used for last mile access for fixed communications. Some IP-Tv providers are using it, acces to BTS's in mobile networks, etc.And what about WiMax being used as CPE mobile access??Do you think this will ever happen?
