I think this: if you are going to emulate a whole operational system like windows, ehy not just using it? i mean, there is no point in it. I think that a great project is WINE. I use it a lot, and there is a point in using WINE. I mean, some softwares don't have Linux alternatives, or they are not as good as Windows ones.But, a fully emulated system???

There are a few new technologies to try to solve the problem of heavy graphics use in laptops, like gaming. 2 of them (Asus and ATI) try to put the graphics card outside the laptop. But, it is probably going to be a little expensive...You think it is worth it? I mean, what do you think about finally letting go of your desktop PC and have a fully functional laptop?

I also used to use Nero a long time ago. Now, for simple tasks, I use a software called ImgBurn. It's simple, very simple actually, but for me it is perfect, because it is lightweigth.

i think there is no better than flickr. if you want to use the photos in sites, boards and e-mails, you should go with imageshack, because it doesn't have too many limitations like bandwidth restriction...

for nature and ladscape photos there is nothing like color photo, but for people, i think b/w is better, because it captures emotions better. i mean, with color, there are too much details, so the real focus is lost.

you probably won't be able to do this anyway... for torrents, you need things like open ports to have acces to a broader range of seeds/peers, which is complicated with a proxy.

there's no need to a low level format. just use a software called hdd regenerator... it always worked for me, and there's no need to wipe your hd...

there's no hardware difference at all... here in south america we use notebook, but i think laptop is more apropriate, because it "sits on your lap" also, it's better to understand... i mean, in a conversation like: i just got a 1 thousand dollars notebook!
