  1. sorry i am replying to this old topic, but i am having this same problem lately. i tried that recovery program and the only way i was able to even finish the scan was putting wait on the A key so it will automatically stop trying to do anything to certain clusters. but all the "recovered" files say "cluster etc" and the drive is apparently recognized as RAW , yet the administrative tools say it is NTFC or whatever.. I heard that for some hard drive problems one can temporarily freeze the HD literally as long as no moisture gets to it, and be able to read it. is this something viable for this case? am i going to be able to recover my files? for some this problem began after reinstalling windows on the C drive, but for me it happened after powering off and powering on......
