  1. Not the Revolution... Now called WiiThe Wii (pronounced as the pronoun "we," IPA: is the fifth video game console released by Nintendo. The console was previously known by its project code name of Revolution, and is the successor to the Nintendo GameCube. Although Nintendo states that its console targets a broader demographic than that of Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3, as part of the seventh generation of gaming consoles it competes with both on some levels.A distinguishing feature of the console is its wireless controller, the Wii Remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and can detect motion and rotation in three dimensions. Notable among the console's internal features is WiiConnect24, which enables it to receive messages and updates over the Internet while consuming very little electrical power.Nintendo first mentioned the console at the 2004 E3 press conference and later unveiled the system at the 2005 E3. Satoru Iwata revealed a prototype of the controller at the September 2005 Tokyo Game Show. In the 2006 E3, it won the first of several awards. By December 8, 2006, the console completed its launch in four key markets.
  2. Halo: Combat Evolved is a first person shooter that takes place on a mysterious ring world named Halo. Set in the year A.D. 2552, it focuses around a war between humans and a technologically advanced alliance of alien races known as the Covenant, who are united by their fanatical religious beliefs in a mission to eradicate humanity. Two days before the story begins, Covenant forces launch an assault on the second largest human installation, Reach, and destroy it. A single starship, the Pillar of Autumn, survives the alien onslaught carrying the last known SPARTAN-II super-soldier, the "Master Chief". The ship initiates a random jump to Slipspace, hoping to lead the enemy away from Earth.A truly remarkable game with amazing Xbox Live features. The plot is magnificent, the graphics are even more magnificent, and the gameplay is the most magnificent. Everything about this game is awesome! GO MASTER CHIEF!!!Will always go down as one of the greatest first-person shooters ever!
  3. The things I love about the Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess? The basic quest items... so originalLink first acquires a wooden sword, but later upgrades to the Ordon Sword (a regular metal sword) and then the Master Sword. In the Palace of Twilight, the Master Sword is further upgraded. Link obtains a wooden shield early (Ordon Shield). This can catch fire (similar to the Deku Shield in Ocarina of Time). If the shield does catch fire and burns up, it can be replaced with another Wooden Shield, or the metal Hylian Shield. However, the Hylian Sheild does not catch fire. The Slingshot also returns from previous installments of the series. Link obtains this item early on in the game before entering any dungeons. Though Link keeps the slingshot, it is essentially replaced later in the game by the Bow, which has similar controls and is more powerful. A Lantern is also in the game, and is used for lighting dark areas, burning spiderweb obstacles, and for lighting torches to trigger "hidden" events. The game features many classic Zelda armaments, some with new twists, such as the Gale Boomerang which can create a small whirlwind capable of picking up items. The Iron Boots also return, which can now be used in conjunction with magnetic surfaces to attach Link to the ceiling. Link has three types of bombs available: Standard Bombs, Water Bombs (bombs that can be used under water), and Bomblings (bombs with legs). Link can combine items such as the bombs and arrows to create bomb arrows, among other items. Twilight Princess also introduces a new version of the Hookshot called the Clawshot. This item functions similarly to the Hookshot, except that Link can hang from the claw, and when hanging from a ceiling he can extend or retract the chain to move up or down. This is later upgraded to two Clawshots enabling movement without touching the ground in certain areas by firing one whilst remaining aloft with the other. The Dominion Rod is used to bring some statues to life. The Spinner (a new item) is a large top-like object which Link uses to move over quicksand and attack enemies. It is also used to ride along tracks in the Arbiter's Grounds and other locations. Another new item is the Ball and Chain, a heavy ball at the end of a chain which is used swinging to hit enemies and break through weak walls and blocks of ice. The Hawkeye is a new addition in the series, which is purchased at the Malo Mart after the archery test in Kakariko is completed. It acts like the telescope from Wind Waker, but is a mask of a hawk head. It can be combined with the bow, which acts like a sniper rifle. Finally Ooccoo is a character present in most dungeons. When discovered, she behaves as a warp item, much like Farore's Wind in Ocarina of Time. She will let Link set a warp point inside a dungeon, and return to it later on.Simply fantastic!
  4. Fight Night Round 3 is the best fighting game I have ever played. The first time I was playing with my friend, my dad came downstairs and asked if it was a title bout. The graphics are simply incredible and flawless on the Xbox 360... a true piece of work. The first time you play Fight Night Round 3, the controls are a little hard to pick up. For noobs, be a button masher and have some competitive fights with other noobs. But, if you come against a pro who has mastered the haymakers, prepare to move you thumbsticks towards the middle. The Career mode is incredible as you work your way from an unknown to a legend, while competing agaisnt other unknowns and other legends as well. The training is a lot of fun and challening later on in your career and choosing a trainer for different fights is very cool. Customizable gear and tattoes improve your fighter's ability to box and also his image. Online playing is very smooth, except when you lag out, you feel like killing someone, especially in the middle of a close fight.Overall, I would rate Fight Night Round 3 a 8.5 out of 10!A true knockout!
  5. Myspace... The downfall of websites for teens to go on. Schools now block it everywhere, people stalk eachother through Google's cache, and spammers have taken control and cracked the code. What once used to be a friendly website for comments and custom web pages, have now turned into a disgusting and vulgar webpage for stalking, soft porn, and sex offenders. The alternative Facebook is much more friend oriented, and is friendly overall. No stalkers, because only people from networks you belong to can view your page. Purely genious the way facebook is set up. Myspace has dominated the web in the past few years, but you can expect the tides to turn slowly towards facebook. MYSPACE............ BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
  6. NINTENDO WII!!! WHAT CAN I SAY?!?! I camped out at Best Buy for 11 hours to get one the first night. When I got home, I popped in Wii sports, and almost died. IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE! I expected no more than a mediocre motion sensor but Nintendo proved me wrong once again. Wii Sports is a very consistent and friendly game where you can customize you Miis and play as them in the game. Tennis is great when playing against another friend, as is baseball and boxing. Golf is the only sport where I was not too impressed by the technology they put into it. There are too many glitches with the swinging and every shot i hit sucked no matter what. But hey, we all suck at golf. Boxing is simply fantastic, whether playing against a computer or against a friend. The Nintendo Wii has a lot of potential in it, and if games like Wii Sports keep coming out on the Wii, it could become one of the greatest and most dominant systems of its time since N64! Wii Sports delivers a game that is fun for the entire family, if you want to have fun, or if it's game time.
  7. GUITAR HERO IS THE GREATEST GAME EVER!! The only bad thing with the first one was the pulling on and hammering off. But, because of the genious makers of the game, the problem has been fixed, and Miramax had enough money to buy some awesome songs. From Van Halen to The Allman Brothers Band, Guitar Hero II has it all! EVEN FREE BIRD! The career mode is very challenging on expert and I found myself playing one song (Hangar 18) about 40 times a day. The new and improved graphics, the wide variety of guitars/skins... it's all worth the extra money for a videogame. Multiplayer now features 3 different modes of play. Of course they still have versus mode and cooperation mode, but now in cooperation mode there are TWO parts to be played, Lead and Rhythm/Bass depending on song. Also, there is now pro-faceoff, where both guitarists shred out the whole song in a true battle of DON'T MESS UP OR YOU LOSE! I can't put Guitar Hero down. It's a phenominal game with tremendous replay value! BUY IT AND YOU WILL ENJOY!!
