Hey Guys, I am sorry that I have not been on the Xisto forums, its just that school and other aspects have gotten into my life. During this time I have setup up one very successful website and another one in the works. Yet I have a major problem with one of the sites. I am not able to find that many people who are willing to offer technical support. While I have 24 /7 IRC and e-mail support, I would like to include a true chat service. I have advertised on different forums and have offered free web hosting and game servers. I also stated that any representative that sells a service to a new client receives 20%. Several users now offer technical support via chat but more help is needed. Can anyone give me any recommendations? I can’t really pay money as of right now. Hey Nightfox, Theoretically itâs a sound idea but it would not work. See NS DNS propagation works by searching the fastest server. This is usually done by sending a ping request to the NS. The fastest readout becomes the default NS. See NS1 or NS2 does not mean itâs the first and second NS it is just a name. So my just adding two additional name servers would only mess your site up. You would see your website constantly going from your website to the backup site. Hope that makes sense. So what can you do? If you have your own house server and have your own Name Servers you could register them into your domain Name Servers setup account and just turn of your home server. That way, when the DNS pings out your NS they would not exist. Now when your hosting account goes down you would just have to turn on your home server. Wait but you want them to start automatically right? Well you could probably find a free or paid service which could contact you when your server is down (Search Google). I have done this several years ago and donât know if it can be repeated again. I had my website monitoring service send me an e-mail that the server was done. Then I created a script to execute a batch script if an e-mail was send from a certain e-mail. The batch script would then initiate my apache service. Thatâs all I did. Hope this helps, itâs a great idea but it takes a lot of work. Even though I did this on a windows system, I recommend to use a Debian or any other great linux distribution.

No person will ever pay such money. On the contrary a script of stature requires one or more dedicated scriptors. How have the time not only to develop such a system but also make sure that its secure. Yet you also need a team to hack the system. Its a really big load. Plus you never nkow if a site will go big. So why are other scripts worth $100 + more? Well you are not their only client. They would eventaully get paid the same amount of money if not more. Plus their software can not exactly match you needs since it is based on its own frame. For this you would need to hire a special scripter. CONCLUSION Before you even start thinking about creating a myspace type system, try setting up a forum and modding it up with Myspace type features. Get the members and get that stats. When you have a large enough community create your system and then create a php script which could transfer data from your currently MySQL database to the new database for your system. Have you ever used any other Distro's? If so have you ever had any problems. Such a problem really happens due to KDE or GNOME (in your case). Experienced users might know what is going on but the average JOE just clicks away. If a program says mandatory update, the user will just press okay and continue his mission. Yet that update script could have been a virus or worm. Even advacned users might fall for such scams. Something else needs to be done.

Secondly, Xisto could record each IP registered an not allow registration of teh same IP. That would eventaully limit the amount of proxy that could be used. Its quite easy to post here and so easy to fill up a page of context by spending the same amount of time as it would take to register five accounts. Mark i really like your idea about giving extra credit to the best post of the week. Though i think its a bit unfair to allow the staff to choose the best polst. Why not create a poll for all members to vote on the best post at the end of the week.
