  1. FF for me. I like the tabbed windows and the extensions and pluggins. My IE is full of popups and other spyware I cant get rid off no matter how many adware removal programs I try.Only complaint about FF is it crahses ALOT. Like I'll just be writing a reply just like this and I'll get a pop up saying "Firefox.exe needs to close" or something like that even though I havnt noticed any problems. Apart from that FF is sooo much better than IE. It has a much more smoother feel to it than FF. FF 2.0 should be interesting, will probably give IE 7 a chance too
  2. Here's what I've got so far:ASUS nVidia nForce4 SLI ATX2 x BFG Tech Geforce 7900GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card Cosair 2GB's of RAMCreative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS SB0350 7.1 AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 2000MHz HTA bit pricey but I'm saving alot of money building it myself. Any thoughts on these choices?
  3. My friend got Oblivion and he says its great. He said its a bit of a system hog, so he cant play it at full settings. Apparently the world is MASSIVE. It took him a couple hours just to get out of the city. Also apparently the AI is amazing. He stole a horse from a farmer and they sent some people after him. He did a quest, and came back to the farmer's house and the farmer was still missing a horse and was talking to himself about a missing horse. I'm considering getting it when I get my new PC, I have a feeling I might get too addicted to it lol
  4. Doesn't seem like a smart idea to me. I know lots of people who travel with a large amount of legal CDs and DVDs. There will be getting stopped left and right in busy airports. I have a feeling the idea won't catch on anyway. Question: If you do get stopped and you do have a large number of illegal CDs can they arrest you right then and there? I dont know any of the legal implications on carrying around burnt CDs.I think illegal-MP3-on-iPods sniffing dogs are still a while away lol
  5. I own BF42, BF Vietnam, and BF 2 and I've loved them all, but I'm strangely unexcited about the upcoming BF 2142. It honsestly doesn't look that impressive to me. The graphics are a tad outdated and none of the new features sound exciting. Some off the screenshots I've seen on various websites look impressive, but others look like a BF2 mod or addon rather than a seperate release. That being said I have a feeling I might end up changing my mind and buying it. Any big BF fans feel the same way?Anyway if you have no idea what I'm talking about, take a look at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and maybe have a look at a few of the screenshots
  6. Not too long ago I bought a Canon Digital Rebel XT. It was my first SLR camera and I've been really pleased with what I've managed to do with it so far. I have the basic 18-55mm lens that came in the box and a very basic 75-300mm lens that I bought later on. I was wondering what to do I have to do (hardware wise) to take my photography to the next level? I was wondering about maybe experimenting with some filters. Heard polarizers were good. Also I was thinking about buying an inexpesinve ( <$150) Macro lens to get some interesting close up shots. So if anybody has any ideas or thoughts, they would be greatly appreciated
  7. Sorry to hear about that, something similar happened to me a while ago.To my knowledge theres no free program that can really be comparable to Photoshop. What I would recommend you do is have a look at Photoshop Elements ( < $100 on Amazon.com.) Its like a lite version of Photoshop more or less. Anyway read up about it since I dont really know the full details. Other than that I would have a look at Macromedia Fireworks and Paintshop Pro. Hope this helped
  8. For those interested in tech: Slashdot - Just general tech stories, updated daily Digg - If you've ever been on ShoutWire you'll know how the system here works. Users "digg" the stories and the more diggs a story gets the more popular it becomes. Sometimes the most popular Digg stories get a mention on the Diggnation podcast which is also worth viewing My personal favorites: DeviantArt - nice wallpapers, art, photography. Very nice And ofcourse: Wikipedia NewEgg Break.com - if you bored and feel like watching videos ThatVideoSite.com - same thing as above, if you dont mind the ads lol
  9. Hey.First post so be nice :DI'm seriously thinking about building my own PC. My friend built his own and he suggested that I do the same. So I was wondering if you guys have any ideas about the kind of hardware I should be getting. Right now I'm thinking some-kind of SLI / Crossfire setup since I'm a bit of a gamer. Feel free to get technical since I *think* I know the basics. So if any of you out there have any tips or ideas feel free to post them here. Thanks
