  1. I've played it I would say it's main genre is RPG, followed by strategy/action in the space battles and RTS on the planet battles. I really liked it, but stopped playing because, I don't know why, it became real slow. That was before I formatted my pc, now I guess it would work fine.In that game you are, as the title says, a Space Ranger. You have a ship with weapons, shields, radar, etc, all of which can be upgraded. You can get work on the many planets, be a trader, pirate, etc. I won't enter in details about the storyline, but it's open-ended. Now, enough reading, go buy it.And I didn't knew they were working on the third, when will it be ready?
  2. Well Of Souls is the best one, I always download it from time to time to play again Well of Souls is a multi-player Role Playing Game (RPG). It is designed to be extensible through a simple scripting language so that you can compose your own quests and share them with your friends. You can also customize your skin and contribute art and music. Plus, you can create your own guild and host your own server where people can play together. website And I wouldn't consider Habbo Hotel a game, it's just a chat. Or I'm wrong?
  3. What EXACTLY do you want? I mean, if you aren't building a custom system there isn't much we can help you with. If I were you, I would either ask for a friend who knew about that to build the system for me or pay someone else to do it. Why? It's cheaper and you'll get a better system.About the config you showed,CPU : 2.2 Ghz AMD Athlon Processor - That doesn't says much about it. AMD doesn't rates it's processors on Hertz. If you know the processor's name, that would help a lot.RAM : 1 gig of RAM - For now, that's good enough. And you can easily add more later.VGA : Geforce 6200 SE - I'm not exactly updated on this, but if I had to choose now (keeping price on mind) a nVidia card (I prefer ATI) I would get an GeForce 6600 GT PCI-eUh, did you forgot the motherboard?I would buy a sound card. My pc has only onboard sound and it usually works ok, but not always. And sound cards are pretty cheap anyway, so why not?
  4. Always look on NewEgg for hardware. Always. I didn't search very much, but this one looks good and cheap: link $1,129.00 Specs: General Operating System Windows XP Professional CPU Type AMDTurion64ML-34(1.8GHz) Screen 15.4"WXGA Memory Size 1GB DDR Hard Disk 120GB Optical Drive DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive Graphics Card ATI-X700 Video Memory 64MB Communication Modem, Gigabit LAN and WLAN Card slot Type II PC Card slot Battery Life 3.0 hours Dimensions 14.30"x10.90"x0.30'' Weight 6.6 lbs A bit more overweight than what you asked for, but a lot cheaper
  5. 1.2PB???? Wow, that's exactly what I need, maybe even a bit more ... I just hope he doesn't changes his mind on the pricing, for US$750 I would surely buy one of those
  6. It's not $114.98. In the site it says $89.99 for the base + clock and $24.99 for just the base. You have added both, right? But who needs a floating clock anyway? I know I don't.
  7. I've always hated and will always hate Final Fantasy, because it's 'story' sucks and they use those super giant swords (That's MY opinion, let's not start a war because of this, ok?).Another one that I didn't like was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I. Why? They use swords. Sure, swords are cool and all but they are unuseful agains laser weapons, or, at last, should be. But not only you can use a metal sword against these guys with laser weapons, you also can actually win. If that's not stupid then I don't know what is.
  8. For .MD5 files: Just googled it, here are a few results (I haven't tested any of these programs): http://www.pc-tools.net/win32/md5sums/ http://www.vonwangelin.com/md5/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ About that .job file I can't help, never heard of it and I amn't going to google it for you again.
  9. I guess it's either a problem with the RAM or power supply or the CPU is overheathing. You can try changing your RAM or power supply with a friend's and see if it stops rebooting. Also, after the pc reboots, keep pressing del and look the CPU temperature in the bios. If it's too high, probably your pc is rebooting to prevent it from burning to ashes . And to be sure it isn't a pesky virus, try booting to other OS (I would recommend using a linux live-cd like http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ or Damn Small Linux, so you don't need to install anything)
  10. This topic is so pointless... There's no thing as 'the best OS', each OS has it's strenghts and weaknesses.- Linux - Great for companies or the average user who isn't into gaming. Secure, stable, lightweight, can run on almost any machine, after installed you can be sure it'll be still working in the next year and, depending on the desktop environment you choose, it's pretty good looking.- Unix - Never used, read linux.- Mac OS X - Never used, I have no idea how it's like.- Windows - 'Where do you want to go today? It doesn't matters, you're comming with us'. If you're a gamer that's quite the truth. As most games are made for Windows, you'll have to use it if you want to play. If you're not into gaming, you'd be better with linux. Tux is FAR more friendly than these guys.
  11. I didn't like SP2. After I installed it my PC became very slow and kept bothering with stupid security warnings about that (useless) Windows firewall. And yea, I had another firewall running (either Sygate Personal Firewall Pro or Tiny Personal Firewall, not sure) but it just didn't bother to acknowledge it. Now I'm using SP1 and am happy with it :oAbout the security patches, they don't really make THAT of a difference. Either installing SP2 or not, just scan your PC using a few anti-spyware programs, surf using Firefox, have a good firewall - I recommend Sygate Personal Firewall - and a anti-virus and you'll be pretty safe. You'll never be totally safe, specially on Windows
