  1. Do check out this award winning class ADODB. Its really easy to use and has many features which really help a lot in the development of an application. The best part is that you just have to specify which database system you want to use in the beginning. If you want to change the database server, just change it where you create a connection. It supports MySQL,MSSQL, Oracle etc. It has an inbuilt pagination script to display your results in pages. -----This is not a tutorial. Moved from [How-To's and Tutorials > Programming > PHP] to [Databases] -----szupie
  2. I have been using DW for over two years. It was scary for me who used to do coding in EditPlus. But since everybody in the new office was using DW, I had to switch over. But within a week, I was just glued to it. It gave me full power to develop applications in PHP. From that day, it (DW) has been my essential tool. I tried FP but I never liked it. After using DW, it was like using MSPaint after using Photoshop. The html code generated by it (FP) really sucks. On the other hand, DW generates very clean code. The DW8 is really good. It has many new additions which really help the developers. For people who want to create static html sites, even they will like it.
  3. We have original CS2 version at Office and had the same problem. The system had 1 GB RAM and it would eat up whole RAM and the system would run as a 486. We even contacted the helpdesk and all they could say was that please re-install it as some files might have gotten corrupted. On top of that, when we re-installed, the same problem re-surfaced. Later, I cam to know from a friend that the uninstaller of Photoshop is not up to the mark and it leaves behind many files and entries in the registry. I scanned my registry with a registry cleaner and then manually scanned the registry for the keyword "adobe". I manually removed all the entries from the registry that related to the Photoshop install directory. After that, I scanned for the files with keyword ADOBE. I found files in the "Common Files" folder under the "Program Files". I removed the entire directory apart from some other files. After all this ordeal, I re-installed the CS2 and it ran like a derby horse. The most probable problem that I could think of is that we had some problem with the UPS and the system had crashed during a power failure twice in a day. During both the times, CS2 was running. Maybe, some files might have gotten corrupted in that process. Do take backup of your registry before doing anything.
  4. I would also support NOD32. I have been using it since an year and there have been no problem with it. Earlier I was using Norton and it really squeezed the hell out of my system resources. NOD on the other hand is very light on system resources. It has bagged many awards and in corporate world, it is considered to be much better than Norton.
  5. Have you people checked out the NOD32 Antivirus by ESET. It is the best antivirus with a bundle of awards and so. The best part is that it is very light on system resources while providing the best protection for the viruses. It prevents the virus infected files in the temporary internet files folder and deletes them there. It provides support for Email checking etc also. Moreover, it automatically gets updated. We have been using NOD in our office for over a year and we never got any virus problem. We were earlier using Norton and that period was a nighmare for us. It never stopped new viruses and moreover, it did not let the system to breathe due to its hunger for system resources. I would suggest you people to download the demo version of NOD and give it a try. Its only around 9meg. I bet you ppl will surely like it.
