You can do it without formatting your hard drive :-) But then you will have to remove prevoius WINDOWS installation directories (Windows ect.)

May be. But i like it Of source i know how to make it in Mandrake or SuSe. But they are too user-friendly Programs, managers...I like low-level configuration: text files ect

I use Ad-ware as a spyware remover, KERIO PERSONAL FIREWALL as a firewall and Dr. WEB as Antivirus program

I've been using Slackware for 6 months. I can't say that it's interface is friendly enough however it's the most configurable distribution i've ever used

It seems easy. But i don't think that it will be enough In WINDOWS XP i always perform these steps to connect to the Internet: 1) Control panel 2) Network Connections 3) File -> New Connection 4) Connect to the internet 5) Set up my connection manually 6) Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password (!!!) Then i have to enter my username and password After this i activate a special shortcut that connects my computer to the Internet. But i can't find any program like this in Slackware 9.1 P.S.: how to enable DHCP in command line ?
