Google's World Domination! Possible?
salempc replied to salempc's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yes, Google definately has a very good image, and have really good services, as opposed to most big companies. But, what will happen once they are in control of everything? That is scary and how do you know that Google is not keeping track of each surfer? It is true that someone with so much power can't be trusted, just look at M$ :S -
I believe that is impossible, an RPG maker even as small as playerworlds and that, is pretty complex to be put into a web page so, I believe there is no hope for you

Ipods Are Overrated seriously, they are
salempc replied to Shooting Star Haven's topic in Science and Technology
Well, I believe iPod is a overrated, even though I own one.Mine is an iPod Mini, it holds 4Gb and it is more than enough. I believe big 20Gb iPod and iPod photo are really overrated, but iPod mini is just perfect, it has good amount of memory and its design rocks , small and light, also holds some cool games and is pleasing to the eye as well as to the ears. Now, generic players in general do not have much memory, most i've seen is 512Mb. Another MP3 player is the Creative ZEN, which costs around as much as iPod Mini but is a little bit bigger and has 5Gb of storage. In conclusion: thumbs up to iPod Mini - - thumbs donw on all other iPodsAnother thing: I love the clickwheel thingy -
World Of Warcraft Online Game or Online Scam?
salempc replied to allwazabsnt's topic in General Discussion
It is damn addicting, I read an article some time ago, that said that in China the government is trying to limit people to play for max 3 hours a day...Now I've never played WoW, but I know what it is to have a life sucked by a MMO so I do not intend to try it. -
Google's World Domination! Possible?
salempc replied to salempc's topic in Websites and Web Designing
hahahahahahahah!!Man, you made me laugh, but, you must be right Anyway I began this feeling when I read the Google Space thread, now that is pretty useless propaganda isn't it? Peace -
News here Have you ever wondered? I am very afraid!! Never got to notice that Google is slowly conquering the world until I read this article, it seems scary that their goal was to organize the world's information, I can translate it to something like controlling this information, do you think Google is turning into Micor$oft? I mean, both are big companies, seeking to dominate everything in a monopoly, having everyone using their systems, etc. Now, I have been reading lately a lot of criticism on M$ and Sony, so what do you guys think about google?

Wired LAN Vs. Wireless LAN What is the best?
salempc replied to christophertinker's topic in Computer Networks
I have extensively experienced both types of connections. My school worked around a policy that said every stundent must have a laptop, and wireless connection to the school network. We had that ORiNOCO thingy, and it was pretty fast, 11Mbit/sec is pretty fast for me, and was pretty cool to play LAN games in class (good ol' days -- CS in Spanish and FIFA 01 in Maths )I believe they were trying to reduce paper consumption and it did well -- 1 laptop = 5846029 books and notebooks ;)At home I have a wired LAN, pretty fast also, I really dont know the speeds (I believe it goes around 100Mbit/sec), but it works as well as school did. No problems with either of those. What I wanted to say is that it doesn't matter if you got 1000Mbit on one and double on the other, there is a certain speed that will allow the necessary flow speed, and anything beyond that is cool just for showing off the numbers. -
Well that's nice As soon as I finish with the design of my website, I'll request hosting, although I do have enough points for the basic package.Thanx!
-
you are saying that once I activate my hosting, I'll get all these pre-made scripts? If so I may activate it right away...But I want to be sure there is this option before I activate, anyone can assure me this?
-
Hi, I have little experience with website scripting languages and had a small question in mind. The website I am creating will need to have an image submission system, this should be anonymous, and only allow images, as well as a "gallery" thing. My website is not hosted by now, I will ask for hosting when I get the system ready. I do have the points btw. If this is not simple maybe someone can get me to a tutorial or a place where I can get information on this, so that I can get the thing done. I am using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX btw, thank you in advance for any help

Capital Punishment Please vote and reply
salempc replied to KonVicKt's topic in Science and Technology
I do believe capital punishment is a crude but necessary thing.sacrificing a life to save a lot more others is better than letting it free killing around. What good are we doing if we leave these killers alive and they go around wasting numerous lives. It is sad, but we really got to let them go, as when we do when a grandparent is about to die, in the case of christianity, they will be judged on their lives and receive what they deserve for eternity. Anyone agree? -
Is It Worth It To Get Gmail ? Is Gmail Good?
salempc replied to wazzupster0204's topic in Search Engines
wow, i have ever used gmail, even though I do have an account just sitting there Believe it or not, ladies and gentlemen, I'm sticking with Hotmail, I am used to clean my inbox periodically, and I do like it when it is clean, so I can stick with the small space I get through it. Gmal has I believe 2.5 - 3 Gb, and I just don`t need that much space -
so what is punk here? Isn't it a bit too noisy? As I see it metal in general (excluding heavy metal, death metal and that ****) is much less noisy than punk in general, as well as 4000 times more challenging. - let's get into a musician's head now: Punk player: look I can play like 4 chords and get lots of money for it!! ( Metal player: oh damn it i've just composed a neo classical metal piece full of arpeggios and I´m not getting a cent Do I sound biased? If so then ignore me

WOW! I didnt know internet coud get to that!Anyway I believed they had planned to fly up to 100Mbit for the next step, but 56 is just as amazing ;)I hope I can get one

System of a down un my opinion is not the best band ever, bust the most political one :-) tell me im wrong and ill slap you Iron maiden is a good band, but if you really believe they have the best guitars, as a friendly recommendation i'm giving you a list of great guitars being a guitar player myself: Steve Vai Dream Theater Stratovarius Dragonforce Queen (believe it or not, much more complex than Iron Maiden) Velvet Revolver Yngwie Malmsteem and metallica´s solo guitar is just amazing (consider songs like Master of Puppets) If you like fast music or IUron Maiden style I suggest go for Stratovarius or Dragonforce for something 4x as hardcore or the rest of the list for a variation of music with EXCELLENT guitars. I personally prefer Dream Theater --> John Petrucci (2nd best guitar player) + Mike Portnoy (best drummer) = Incredible

I believe BW means BandWidth, Imay be wrong but judging on the context, it says Xisto gives 500-3000GB of it.

Freeipod.com: Has Anyone Ever Got One?
salempc replied to organicbmx's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yes it is true, a friend of mine has got an iPod this way. What they do is make you sign up to a lot of free stuff, you will get constantly bombarded by propaganda about the affiliates of the site. With being able to get your e-mail in the list, they are getting big bucks, much more that an iPod's value, so they can give u one, and that is how it works. The list works this way: Several companies need to get some marketing going on. The internet is a great place to start off, so they buy e-mail lists from other companies, at really high prices, so they get going with a couple of hundreds of thousands places to spread their propaganda.yup, not a scam, but a great system, just as good as the hosting points thingy, really did surprise me -

The Skycar The first fully functional flying car
salempc replied to ASR1405241491's topic in Science and Technology
First of all, hi! My first post!Back to topic -->I have never heard of flying cars before, but I think it is a pretty bad idea from what u guys have posted. As well as just having accidents, falling over people's houses, etc. What if your run out of fuel? That would be scary. A car in the road runs out and just stops. A car in the air runs out and it falls over somebody's house ;)Also, have any of you ever wondered how big are these cars? In order to move what a normal car can they should need pretty big wings, am I wrong? Unless of course, the cars hover around, but that would take a hell lot of fuel, unless they implement hydrogen as a fuel, which by the way is too dangerous. It would be funny anyway to have these flying cars around, but I believe that we can use our scientists' energy better in researching actually affordable projects, such as trains powered by gas, electricity, magnetism, etc. or just research on the possible use of hydrogen as a safe fuel, that would end pollution pretty damn fast.Well that's for my first post, cya!
