What Is Your Latest Winxp Problem ?
selim1405241509 replied to wutske's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yeah those error report sending options are pretty annoying. Luckily I don't get them much. Although by saying that I might have just jinxed myself. I think the main problem is hoe cluttered it gets after so many months of (un)installing, browsing the web and generally using apps on it. I installed CCleaner recently after finding it on another post and found out I had about 300megs being used by temp files. It may not seem like much but on a laptop, where it's hard to upgrade the HDD, every MB counts. Maybe I'll invest in an external HDD. But anyway that's off topic. Also msconfig does work for Windows XP, can't remember who said it didn't. If you don't have it then I think it can be found on the Windows CD. Or just google it and you'll get a few links on how to use it and where to download from. Same goes for Windows 2000. -
Trillian This handy little app lets you run MSN,ICQ,Yahoo messenger,AOL messenger and IRC in one handy little program. Very useful if you use more than one type of instant messenger. Instead of having hundreds of windows open just use this one for all. + it can be customised easily. The only problem I've had so far is I can't figure out how to change my MSN name but it's probably just me missing something Enjoy

I use IrfanView to view different pics. Can also be used to do simple editing. -
Isn't this like The specialists mod for Half Life?
-
Yeah but Half-Life 1 singleplayer is way better than HL2 singleplayer :/ Don't really play them online though. Except for the mods like CS:S

EVE:Exodus Brilliant MMOG out there IMO. There's so much to do I don't think I can describe everything that can be done in it. I think the best part about it is it's very player driven. Alliances, made up or corporations (EVE's version of guilds), that can form NAPs with each other. Or start an all out war for any reason at all. Although it's usually advised to have a good reason or you can make a lot of enemies. Unless you're feared. The PVP is excellent. It requires more thought than most other games where PVP id either nonexistant or just simply tapping your mouse button so your 'Sword of Eternal Power' strikes your opponent. There's other things but it's late so I'll let those of you who do play it describe it and those who don't. Well check out the 14 day free trial

Amazing how many anti Microsoft people there are out there. I'll admit it's not the best browser but I have noticed I can't access some websites with it. Specifically ones that use Shockwave but maybe it's just me not setting things right.I use IE and most likely always will use IE. It has everything I need for viewing websites and I know how to use it. No fiddling with preference menus to get things how I want them.TBH most people are familiar with IE and will most likely stick with IE. Why have 2 different web browsers anyway? And anyway, with a good virus scanner and firewall running I'm pretty safe from viruses and hackers. Unless I download one from somewhere.Although I did recently manage to delete a bunch of Windows apps (notepad, paint, calculator, IE and OE). I got IE back but trying to fix OE was a pain so I am now using Thunderbird (kudos QBRADQ). Maybe I'm slowly converting. In fact, I believe I have a version of Knoppix somewhere
