yeah, underclocking is a standard feature for most of the laptop.. mine also turn to 800mhz when not in use but goes to full-clock 2.13ghz when i play games or do some video conference. the centrino hardware controler give me the function to control what clock speed i want to use... so u have the option to run at the full speed or to save the battery. i usually use battery-saving most of the time, except while playing games. this, i think, will reduce wear and tear of internal components and what more, give me quieter environment coz the fan will run at minimal speed only. if u compliment save mode battery with undevolting the procesoor, u can get superquiet mode. coz the fan is barely moving... and i hope u guys understand the different between, underclock and undervolt. in short, undervolt lower the volt while maintaining the speed, it just make the processor less stable. while underclock as in intel speedstep technology, is reduce the multiplier to save energy and to lower power consumption...

im thinking of buying psp too but for psp, it is hard to view a movie or video clips because we have to buy first the movie in umd disk, which is more pricey than original one. And if we already got the videoclip in our computer, the only way to view it is to trasfer it to memorystick which is expensive and limited. i i heard (correct me if im wrong)ipod video display quality is better than psp,(though it's smaller than psp). but psp have a lot more function like, wifi, internet browsing, games(of course).. but the real drawback is the umd disk, it is not self-burnable. i wonder, if they use mini dvd instead of umd, more than ten-folds of people will buy it.. :)and for creative, it doesnt give 'i have an ipod' satisfaction feeling, creative product doesnt have the same effect. ' i have a creative'-so lame... . u get what i mean? further more, some phycologist say make people love ipod is it addictive clickwheel. yeah, i love twiggling my thumb searching for soing, or play with its volume, besides that, it have nice clicking sound...some people say, the clicking sound is improving for each generation, meaining every new generation have a better satisfactory clickng sound... haha thats what i heard

i think we can convert the files type to be able use watch it in ipod video. i think the codex type is h.xxx(cant remember). it is like a sibling of divx and xvid... so u have to convert the codex first... im now considering whether to buy nanos of videos, but im more to nanos now.... i dont think i would be much fun to watch movies on ipod, plus of its wider built. 'wide' is not a very interesting adjective for apple product, rite?

i have make up my mind to buy a new nano 4gb, 239$ for student,after hours of reading reviews and asking people. And then suddenly, they came out with video ipod...omygod... now im in the cloud99 of choosing between those two... nano is so irresistable small and thin and everything but video ipod have video... and its thinner than mini too... with 20hours of battery life, that is a lot of songs to listen too... 360++ for 60gb, im really in the divergence of choices...what do you guys think... is video capability and 60gb of storage can outthrow sexy and sleeky nanos??

i dont think notebook vendor will include any undervolt capability to their laptop, because it is too advance for everyday consumer to have it as an built in application... maybe they have multiplier changer but undervolt sofware, no way

i think i will wait for ipod photos to become nano too... at that time, sure i will buy it for whatever price apple put for it....haha

i wouldnt say it as wasting the cpu horsepower because when we undervolt, the speed is still the same(please do not mistaken with 'underclock'). What is more Centrino Hardware Control(CHC) allow us to change the the multiplier setting ourselve instead of let the built-in intel software to decide it. CHS allow us to undervolt for each multipliers (in my case between 6 & 16). so if we r going to play games or watch movie, just click the CHC icon in the tray and click max performance... this program also automatically set the setting to max battery when we are running on battery...handy! btw, we never undervolt and overvolt, what we do is undervolt only.

what i love about skype is:1) it works better than yahoo voice, really2. you should try to make a comparison.2)it works behind firewall and proxy. my network is behind server firewall and use proxy. however i still make a call. I tried to use google talk, it is totally suck. i can even hear the other party's voice3) everybody can use it... coz google talk only restricted for its gmail members. What's wrong with that?yahoo also for its members only... the thing is, yahoo got superalot no of members, not gmail. plus, gmail used to be just-for-invitation-only program which put a great barrier for new user to sign up...

since i use radeon for my lappy, im turning away from nvidia which i revered earlier... now radeon is my choice... i still dont know to buy for the desktop... i just dont have enough experience to make a choice.. haha... now still using the old card... budget is tight... maybe take a longer time to buy a new gc

Howdy folks......My sis using AMD Sempron if i'm not wrong. Lately her pc giving some kinda funny beeps n cannot reboot. So.. we brought to the shop n change the motherboard ( Accordin to the shop people).After that./... brought it back.. want to try to install windows XP... problem... said some missing system file. I think the cd no problem bcos i used it many times to format my other comp.One main problem is... the CPU temperature was super high. We turn it on just 15-20 mins in an air-conditioned room.... n the temp was already over 70 degrees.....This i believe shouldn't happen. I am using an AMD 64.... and there is no problems. Even if i on the pc whole day n turn off the air cond... my syst only around 4x++ deg. My hard disk will be a lil hot though... around 50++.Wat's the burning point of a system anyway? 80 Degrees?

mine is little different, i like prince of persian. I have played the games when i was in 19-11 years old(i cant remember). at that times, it is windows 95 games i think. It is a very interesting to play on xbox rather the old computer. It is like, black and white dream turn into a colored one. So wonderful. it gave me a feeling of owning something that i long for. Ever heard of overclocking your notebook? please don't, instead under-clock it, it is safe, and fruitful( longer battery life, less wear and tear of your processor, less heat emitting, and a lot more) Download Centrino Hardware Control ( i cant remember the website, but suing Google is good choice) and Prime95 from http://www.mersenne.org/download/ Unzip the programs to the directories of your choice Launch Prime95.exe, download and begin calculations, minimize the window (you should see a red icon in your system tray), then launch centrino hardware control (chc) go to voltage tab and check the lowest multiplier row step down the voltage one step by one and it will check your stability for 30 sec. Ensure that Prime95 is still running without any errors. An error will look something like this: "FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4" or "Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt." If you do not encounter any errors after a few minutes, return to chc and continue to lower your voltage again. Continue decreasing the voltage and checking Prime95 until you encounter an error. Once you encounter an error, raise the voltage by one stepping. Then allow Prime95 to run for a few hours. If you receive an error, increase the voltage by another stepping and run Prime95 for a few hours until you do not encounter any errors. If Prime95 runs for a few hours without encountering any errors, you have determined the lowest possible CPU voltage at minimum processor speed Now check the maximum multiplier row. usualy when they burn an iso to a cd, the cd will contain all the file in the iso, not just 1 *.iso file(if u know what i mean)and they do that to save space in the harddisk, this only happen to people with small capacity harddisk or notebook

yeah i think that card is suit my need... i just play unreal tournament 2004 and sometimes dooom3(i hate adventure fps, it makes me dizzy finding ways, but i play becoz i like its superb scary graphic )but maybe i should wait like what zerohawk said, coz my current card can run the doom but in low res and lighting...

This morning I booted my pc and found out everything had been reset mysteriously by Windows. My visual styles, my icons, and my cursors were reset to the default WinXP look. Thnking nothing about it, I set them back to my original look.Then when I started iTunes I saw my entire library missing! The songs are still present on my HD but they dont show up in iTunes...wth happened?Oh and btw tell me how do I clear my entire library say if I dont want it anymore? I dont want to clear song-by-song, that would take years. Thanks
