  1. First of all, you'd think someone would appreciate quick responses in a help forum And I wasn't online all day yesterday, that post happened to be the newest when I logged on
  2. Aww come on m^e, I told ya I have a 2 year old to support! I don't know what's going on, but I haven't gotten it yet. I received plenty "Get Hoodia Cheap!" and "Get A Free XBOX 360!" emails, but no activation one I noticed in your last post that you said you sent it to "jennifer****@cs.com" (by the way, it's not a bank account number ) it should be jenniferg6775@cs.com... I'll love you forever if you try again
  3. Being on Asta again has got me back into making tutorials - that's the only way I can get people to talk to me - a couple days ago someone asked me if I had a website with my tutorials on it, and I said "no," to which he replied, "You should make one, then." So I did. I just finished the layouts, so I don't have a live demo yet, but here are some crappy screenshots. You might have to zoom in if you use Firefox. I stuck with my "trademark" teal scheme (I just love that teal!), but I exchanged the usual lime green for orange and more white. The layout isn't terribly big because I am going to have the tutorials open in a new window. I am going to change one thing though: the advertising section at the bottom. It didn't seem all that big until I sliced and saved it, so I'll be taking about 200px off of that. This is the index page and the listings page, respectively: Features of the site Site Content: Tutorials, downloads, and help section (forum) for Photoshop presets (styles, brushes, actions, etc.), PHP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript, free graphics and PSD's, link directory/exchange, and a graphics request section. The Tutorial Pages As I mentioned earlier, the tutorials will open in a new window (after clicking the "Read It" button shown in the second screenshot). In this new window there will be an example of the tutorial outcome (i.e., style on text), step by step instructions to recreate the example, a feedback section where visitors can leave comments/rate the tutorial, and a tutorial view counter. There will also be the obligatory "Print," "Bookmark," and "Send To Friend" links as well. I think this project will turn out quite well, especially if I can get a few people to help me out with maintenance and the addition of resources. I want to get this site up as quickly as possible, so instead of taking a couple weeks to create scripts for the submitting, sorting, and publishing of tutorials, I think it would be faster to do it by hand. Let me know what you think about the concept and layout! If you would like to be a part of it, or submit a resource, PM me with the details. My sincere gratitude in advance... -ยง Rae By the way, some of you may think that in the second screenshot you see the date "12.31.06..." But it's not really there. It's just a figment of your imagination.
  4. I'm not a Photoshop expert, but I've done my share of modifications and I'm pretty sure I could recreate that, or something similar. It probably involves a lot of blend modes and gradient maps. Now when you say that it uses CSS files for the different schemes, do they also contain separate images as well, or is it all one set of images with 3 different CSS files? If there're 3 different sets of images, that sounds pretty normal. If there's only 1 set of images then the graphics could've been created with a color-to-transparent gradient, or vice versa, so you get the different colors from the different CSS files by changing the background color of the table. Was that difficult to understand? I'm sorry, I ramble :/ Anywhos, if you give me a few minutes I'll make a style and a tutorial real quick that'll produce that effect (or something as similar as possible), at least for the forum style. Unfortunately, I don't have the time at the moment to try to recreate the logo since I'm working on my tutorials site, but maybe tomorrow Haha, I got it! It's not entirely perfect... But hey, what really IS perfect, anyway? I made a zip file for you (no bugs, I swear) with a PSD, a style set, and a little tutorial on what I did. I hope you like it, Photoshop lagged and froze my computer for almost 15 minutes and I had to reboot so YOU BETTER BE HAPPY WITH IT! Just playing, have fun and good luck Hmm... Seems either uploads aren't on or there's a CHMOD issue: "THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND The requested file upload failed because suitable permissions have not been enabled on the 'uploads' directory. Please contact the board administrator and inform them of this error." Oh well, I'll put it online: SunBlind's Cyan Glass
  5. Nope, no email I don't have spam blockers, so that's odd... Would it be too much trouble to try again?
  6. The first 3 sets were made from the same abstract work, saint-michael, but they are in fact different. Not a drastic change, but just enough to make them a little different :DThanks!
  7. My ISP has changed since I first registered on here in June. When I came back the other day, I thought I had edited my account information, but apparently I just edited my profile so the activation email was sent to my old hotmail address. I hadn't logged into it for so long that they reset my account, so I'll need the activation email resent to my new email.Sorry about that
  8. Thank you, thank you Looks like I'll be including these in my graphics section after all!
  9. You could try using GIFWorks, Mr FreeFree, or just go to Download.com and search the freeware section for one Good Luck!
  10. These are just some button blanks I made last year. I had just started making micros, so they're not great, but they're here if you want 'em. Tell me if you like them or not, because only the graphics and tutorials I post on here that receive good reviews will get included in the graphics section of my new site. Each ZIP file contains 6 (or 8) different color variations of the button/banner and the fully customizable .psd file. Enjoy! 11. chseng, I see that you're new and no doubt looking for some interesting topics to reply on to get credits... but have you checked the date on this thread? This was a new thread when I joined 6 months ago Lol. Try clicking on the new posts link at the top of the page, or refer to the last post/last thread links at the bottom of the page
  12. Are you serious? I haven't checked my email yet, but since I've gotten that email from him saying he sent that $10 for Aiden, we've been talking back and forth about my financial situation and all the PTR programs I do, and he said he'd help me get into some of the best programs he knows. He mentioned the $10 contest he started, but I said I only had $5 in my account, then I got booted again so I went to bed. I wonder what he did...No wait, I know what happened... The $10 is the deposit I made, I got the 50% back reward, $5.00.
  13. If you're looking for an honest, paying HYIP... this is it. The $1.50 I attempted to deposit 2 days ago was intercepted by a hacker, and I immediately sent a support request. I was very upset because my son's birthday is on January 5th, and that money, all the money I had, was going towards a present. Not only did 2006hyip respond to my email in less than 24 hours, they offered to refund my stolen money! Needless to say, I was very happy... but you can't imagine how happy I was when I logged into my egold account and saw a balance of $10.07! I checked my history and saw this: Now how many other HYIP's do you think would do that? *ALSO* I deposited that $10.00 back into the site and won $5.00 instantly deposited to my egold in a contest they were running!
  14. This tutorial will teach you how to make the ever popular Carbon Fiber pattern. I use it frequently, since it can create many different looks when it's applied in different scales. Anywhos, let's get started! 1. Create a new image, 4px by 4px, with a transparent background 2. Zoom in 800% 3. Using your 1px Pencil tool () and the color #595959, create a 2px wide by 1px high rectangle in the top left corner of the square 4. Now switch your color to #474647 and make another 2x1 pixel rectangle below the one you just made 5. Repeat Step 4 with the color #2D2C2D 6. Repeat Step 4 with the color #131212 7. Now switch sides and make another 2x1 pixel rectangle with #2D2C2D in the top right corner of the square 8. Switch your color to #131212 and make another 2x1 pixel rectangle below the one you just made 9. Repeat Step 8 with the color #595959 10. Repeat Step 8 with the color #474647 11. Go to Select > All (or press Ctrl + A) 12. Go to Edit > Define Pattern. Name the pattern "Carbon Fiber," save, and you're done! You may also download the pattern here. Save it into your presets directory under Patterns (should be something like C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Presets\Patterns). This pattern is used in my Custom Style #1 Tutorial
  15. Okie dokes! I'll get to it in an hour or two... I have about... 376 emails to go through. Stupid PTR site addiction :/
  16. Yay, I was hoping someone would find this interesting Lol Ya know, m^e, I would love to elaborate on the steps, but I wouldn't know what to say! Really, all it is is putting a black and white version of the picture on top of the colored one, so when you erase parts of the desaturated layer, the color shows through. How about if I added graphical examples of the icons for the tools used, like you see on most PS tutorial sites?
  17. First of all, I was planning on posting this tutorial 6 months ago but due to my crazy life and my recent relocation to Hell I'm just now getting around to it So here it is! Have you ever seen one of those black and white pictures that has a single object in color? Well, I'm gonna show you how to do that in 3 EXTREMELY easy steps! I used this effect on a promo pic for my fiance's little brother Sean's band, There's Always Forever. However, I went with more of a ghetto duotone version instead of black and white, but it's all the same. Here is my version (click to enlarge) The effect is much more dramatic with a black and white photo. Okay, now onto the actual tutorial! And fair warning, I'm extremely tired and I'm kinda rushing through the example pics... they took me 15 seconds Lol I'm sure yours will come out much nicer I'll be using this picture: 1. Duplicate your image layer Press Ctrl+J 2. Desaturate the top layer a. Image > Adjustments > Desaturate -OR- b. Press Ctrl+U to make the "black&white" a uniform color 3. Use the eraser tool, remove the portion(s) of the picture that you would like to be in color. Optionally, you can fill in the areas you erased with white on a new layer and set the opacity to around 7-10% for a softer look. Voila! Enjoy
  18. Whoops, there should be a closing div tag after the closer for the mainbox layer (so that's 2 </div>'s before <div class="leftmenu">I'm tired :/
  19. I couldn't help it, I had to mess with it Okay, I'm not quite sure how this will help you... but that horizontal scrollbar was bugging the hell out of me and I just had to do something about it Lol. First of all, here is the final code revision for the css: body {font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;color: #000000;font-size: 90%;margin-top: 0px;margin-bottom: 0px;margin-left: 0px;margin-right: 0px;padding: 0%;}p {font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;color: #000000;font-size: 90%;}h1 {font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;color: #000000;font-size: 150%;text-decoration: underline;}span {position: relative;top: .1%;left: 2%;}.innerheader {position: relative;top: .1%;left: 50%;width: 50%;}.mainbox {border: 1px coral dashed;position: absolute;left: 15%;top: 10%;height: 80%;width: 70%;padding: 0%;background-color: white;}.leftmenu {border: 0px navy solid;position: absolute;left: 1%;top: 12.5%;height: 75%;width: 15%;padding: 0%;background-color: coral;} And the HTML:<html><head><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="mystyle.css"><title>Testpage!</title></head><body><div class="mainbox"><div class="innerheader"><h1>some words</h1></div><span> some more words</span></div><div class="leftmenu"><span>Textbox</span></div></body></html> Sorry I made it so big... I have to have things spaced out since I have horrible eyes. If you see any colors or borders that weren't in your original code, it was so I could distinguish the layers and pinpoint the troublemaker. In this case, I found 2. The "innerheader" and "h1" tags seemed to be was what causing the problems, although I don't know exactly why. If I set the positioning of the innerheader span to absolute, the scrollbar went away, but your "some more words" text got realigned. And the H1... that was just weird. The H1 seemed to have taken on the width properties of your mainbox div, and since it was positioned to 50%, it overlapped half of the box, leaving the other 50% hanging on the left side. THAT was what caused the horizontal scrollbar, I just don't know why. All I can tell you is that I hate relative positioning, and always use absolute (but that's because I have the patience to adjust the coordinates pixel by pixel until I get it right) and that I changed the "some words" text to be contained in a DIV instead of a span. Don't know what it did exactly, but it looks the same as your original page, but without the scrollbar. Good luck figuring out the exact cause of this little mishap, because my brain is way too fried to research it any longer Lol
  20. Rather than post plain old genres, I'd prefer to name a few of the bands I listen to on a daily basis... some of which you may make fun of, and in that case, I say "Bite me."Mudvayne, Mushroomhead, The Mars Volta, He Is Legend, Pantera, Tool, Stone Temple Pilots, The Doors, A Perfect Circle, Cold, Tchaikovsky, Queens Of The Stone Age, Korn, System of A Down, Snot, Nirvana, Crossbreed, Meshuggah, Otep, and some other bands that, trust me, you don't know.
  21. Before I go spewing out suggestions and poking my nose into this matter any further, may I ask your screen resolution and browser?

    Yo!

Hello, and welcome! I'm sure you'll love it here, I do!Just find a topic, and post post post! But make 'em good so ya don't make the admin cranky :huh:My name is Rae, and if you ever need anything or just want to talk, PM me!
  23. I personally read every single HTML tutorial I could get my hands on and drew out my conceptual design before publishing anything, but that may be just me For someone who would like a nice "placeholder" layout, or just doesn't feel like learning to make or making their own design, I highly suggest going over to OSWD. Not only will you find a badass design for your site, they're all great learning tools. I like to download various layouts and tweak them to add a little "Touch of Rae" and then resubmit them so that others may learn as well. I've been doing HTML for 8 years and I still went there today and got me 6 new designs to play with Good Luck!
  24. Lol Sorry, I actually thought about coming back and posting up all my version infos and stuff like that but I've been so frustrated with the whole situation I decided to take my mind off it for a while before I grabbed the sledgehammer.I've been using Compuserve2000 (yeah, I know...) but I also had the same problem in IE, Firefox, and nothing happened in Opera. The applets didn't load, but it didn't crash either. Yes, I've run numerous spyware and antivirus programs, I do twice a week., and so far I'm up to 5 sys restores. Everything was working fine the day before yesterday (though I've always had problems with one particular game) and after the suggestion to update my JRE to possibly fix that game I uninstalled the current version I had and downloaded the latest one from java.com, and since then my computer has been slowly spinning down the toilet. Before that, the games loaded fine (slowly, thanks to my 56k modem...but at least they loaded at all) and my browser never crashed. Right now I'm trying to uninstall everything Java on my computer and start from scratch... But I got booted offline and the installation I was in the middle of failed and now it won't complete. It's showing up in my Add/Remove Programs list but when I try to remove it it says I have an installation in progress and to complete it before attempting an uninstallation. I don't know what else to do, I'm so lost...
  25. As I mentioned earlier, I've already installed java 3 times (the update 5), but it's still not working. I'm very familiar with system restores and have already performed 3 or 4 of them trying to resolve this matter, even restoring my computer as far back as a month, but it hasn't helped at all. Not only are applets not being executed in my browser, but the entire browser is crashing.
