if you plan on using flash for a while and this is not a 1-time flash deal, i'd say go with learning flash and don't get 3rd party softwares such as Swish3D.. The reason is that you're limited to what you can create whereas in Macromedia you have full opportunity at getting into every aspect of flash.. not only that you will also come out with a language/software under your belt.. if you ever plan on designing sites for money, people will see Swish3D on your skills and laugh thinking your new and will never hire you :l

thanks chiiyo for the feedback, definately will help, because the only way i was aware of cleaning this crap out was going through each file individually.. like i want to clean out all the apps i never use and ****, and folders in the root dir, without having the whole system crash..

thanks for the feedback guys, and chiiyo, i didnt happen to have a mouse usb'd to the powerbook for a year and it went to sleep even with the lid open lol :l

when they started making computers there wasn't much funding.. even when the first towers came out, thats why they were slow and expensive.. over time of making a lot of money with the business they can afford to go out on the limb and take chances with new equiptment and making new smaller chips, this is why there is no like 1 trig of speed and a couple zigs of ram lol..

here's another problem I've been having for a long time with my powerbook.. I keep softwares running in the background but when the powerbook closes it goes to sleep, is there anyway to keep the powerbook from sleeping while closed that way the apps will keep running.. also with the screen factor, it gets smudges and marked easily, anybody know of any good products to protect/clean the powerbook screen.. thanks

I've had many troubles with this, such as knowing which files i can delete and wont screw up the computer, and after trying to get rid of apps, i know they must be leaving some sort of trail behind.. anybody know how to get rid of this crap, and completely clean the system? I'm mostly a windows native, but i have a powerbook, and im trying to clean it up..

I mostly learned by example.. I would download source codes, look at them, and just be able to understand them.. It's not like their really difficult to get, but for some people it seems to be.. HTMLGoodies was a good one, also planet-source-code.com >=]

Turiddu replied to fillrbnny's topic in Computer Gaming
This game was the best back then, just wish it had multiplayer story mode.. But being able to have 4 people playing against each other was definately fun, the levels and graphics were nice for the time to which is what i think made it so good back then -

so i have to change my nameservers, i couldn't just point garbesi.com to 69.50.168.69 which is the Xisto ip addr?another thing to, "Group Account w FREE Domain name 1GB space & 15 GB BW" what is that all about? I tried clicking the link on the webhosting page to view that but it seems there is an sql error of some sort.. my brother plans on signing up here also, but we live in the same house and share the same connection/ip, will that interfere with him registering, or him having his own account?

Usually when I create my layouts I'll start out with a 800x600 canvas in Adobe Photoshop.. I don't think it matters what the colors are of a website, it just matters what the graphics and content are.. If the graphics are eye-popping it's definately something that will attract users, not only from fellow graphic designers on the web but from the public if your putting out interesting content and something that is going to keep them coming back.. how to begin becoming a good designer? you can easily search on google for Photoshop tutorials, Maya tutorials, and 3ds max tutorials.. 3ds max and Maya are 3d modelling softwares, and Photoshop is the graphics editor.. also macromedia flash, it's taking over the internet you would want to incorporate that in your webdesign also.. now everything takes real extensive time to learn if your a quicker learner, but you have to remember as much work you put in to a project, is how much you will get out of it.. so if you don't spend much time on learning and practicing these softwares, you'll never get any use out of them.. bottom line is when it comes to webdesigning i think its more about the graphics that drop jaws and/or the communities and content that keep the website alive and not something thats only had a reply or update from 2 months ago... Software Sites Flash - http://www.adobe.com/ Maya - http://www.autodesk.com/products/alias-products/overview Photoshop - http://www.adobe.com/ Tutorial Sites Flash - http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/ Photoshop - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Maya - http://simplymaya.com/ they all have free trials on their website

Maya, Anyone? Moving away from Flash and Photoshop
Turiddu replied to Airlub's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I am heavily into Maya and am and x-max user, so let me give you some input.. if your trying to create quick 3d graphics then go for 3ds max, otherwise maya is better, and here's why.. Maya has many more animation options and filters then max does, it also is widely used for many mainstream movies that you see today on the screen. the thing is you have to build everything from scratch to finish (hence no big shortcuts like max provides), which essentially equals more time consumption, but in the end you'll be getting a better final production. I haven't used max since version 5, so i don't know if they've added the skeleton feature, but this feature in Maya allow you to create a skeleton of your character, and this is a key to realism when it comes to animation... for example when you are trying to make a realistic character you want the face to move, hands to fidget, and chest to extrude and intrude.. in max this would take a while to do, in maya this would actually be quicker.. their both great modelling softwares with minor differences, but in the end i think if you're trying to go for something thats more professional, go for maya.. and if you're interested in it for a career, i'd take a good guess that Maya would look a lot better on a resume then Max, for the fact of all the movies that the software has been used for.. -
yeah i would say you need to fix the lighting on those pictures, you can barely see the illustrations..the first one looks like it'd be really nice, but you can hardly see it because of the light.. the other 2 are okay, but i seem to like the first one

you really must of forgot, ASTERISK.. from mac classics.. that game has to be one of the best.. you chose from 3 ships, and would collect jax as money to buy equiptment.. very simple but addicting..
