Hi, I have a Media Vision Pro Graphics 1024 VLB Video card. I need the latest drivers & utilities for this card. I have been searching everywhere that I can think of, but I can't find both the drivers & utilities. I have the original driver disk ver. 1.2, but I don't have the utility disk that opens up all the fancy features of this card. I know it's an old card based on Cirrus Logic. It has a VGA port, Video in/out ports, and svid in/out ports. Without the utilities disk, I can't use anything but the VGA port. Please help me out!!! Thank you!YB

I hope to have alot of fun here on asta.Btw, maybe you can help me with a little problem, I'm trying to get a new ver of linux that will install on a 486. I'm trying to setup this old computer as a MIDI recorder. I tried debian, but I couldn't get it to work. It wanted to boot off the CD's, and if I DL'd the floppy boot images, it just wanted to install off the internet. I don't have this 'puter connected to any network, much less the internet. Any recomendations before I go nutty with this project? :(Danke :(YB

Sounds like alot of fun, but I would advise against VB, I've had major problems with VB programs crashing systems of mine, including both programs I've written, and ones I've got off the net. I would recomend Java or C++ for a serious program like that. What kind of graphics do you plan on using? I might be able to help you. Let me knowYB

do you know which one is used on http://search.mibbit.com/ ? Where else can I find a decent java IRC client that I can use from any computer (including a library computer)? I don't have my own internet connection right now, so I'm extremely limited in IRC access. YB

do you want to create a simple scripting language, or do you want to make something more complex? either is possible, but if you want to be able to compile programs made with your language, it will be extremely difficult. If you want to be able to do scripting, it might be easier to tie a scripting language out there to whatever you are making. I have worked with a scripting language named "TCL" tied to several different programs.YB

That's Strange, I've used CPanel at many sites, and I've never had a problem with it. Have you asked the site admins about the space problem? That's what I would recomend.YB

I sure hope so, I just signed up with them, and I'm working on getting enough posts to get my website hosted by them. I already have paid for my domain name from another company, so I want to get my site up & running as soon as possible. From all the sites I've seen, Xisto seems to be the best if what they say is true.YB

It must be possible. Although it is painful. I spent 5 years without a computer. Ok, I had absolutely no access to one where I was, but I did survive. I found most of my old e-mail addresses were dead, and I can't get into my old website (it's there, but I can't access the account). *sigh* At least I'm finally back on the net, back into civilization....

Have you checked #mIRCHelp on EFNet? I used to be a channel operator there. They do extensive help when you can catch the right person there. Depending on how complex scripting help you need, I even might be able to help you. Let me know what kind of scripting help you need.

I am working on building an old 486 (with a pentium overdrive chip) and I plan on installing Debian from source. I would like to know what is the best software to get so I can use this box for working with MIDI. I have a Casio keyboard, and I want to be able to both record music via MIDI, and be able to control the keyboard from the computer. Thank You for your assistance.
