Can someone give me a reason why I should use XHTML instead of HTML? I really dont see the big difference except for having to add a / at the en of tags that dont needs to be closed in regular HTML. So, please, whats the difference? What can I do with XHTML that cant be done in HTML?

This is not right... you need to tell the browser that your writing in css.So you need to have <style type='text/css'> before you write that line of css and </style> after. You might also want to define the way the link looks when your not hovering it.You can do something like:<style type='text/css'>a.mylink {font-family: Arial;font-weight: bold;color:#000000}a.mylink:hover {color:#FF0000}</style>and then use the class="mylink" tag.It would show up as a black bold Arial link that turnes red when you hover it.

Yes yes, I found out how you did that pritty quickly, but my problem is that the PHP file gets executed into the editing textarea, is there a way to avoid that?The point of editing the php file is that it needs to be executed at some point! I know about the chmodding issues. But is there a way to bring the php file into the textarea without it being executed, i know i can use special characters that will stop it from being executed, but that would stop it from being executet all the time. I want it to be executed when it is included in the site.

Im wondering how you can load a file into a text area and edit it. Lets say i have a php file called test.php and id like this file to be loaded into a textarea and the user should be able to edit this file and store it. Is this posible? Im also wondering how you make it so the html dosnt get encoded by the browser, lets say i need to explain on my website how you use html. Just testing something, maybe i can get this from the source. <b></b>

Yeah, my site is norwegian, I know one of the admins around here is from norway. Whats the point of telling which language your site is in when you sign up for an account when your only allowed to have english + optional language. Im certainly not going to translate everything that I write on my page to english when I know noone will read it/ have the need to read it.Are you sure that this is the case?

You should, dont worry, your account wont be suspended, my account was like that for two whole days before the issue resoved itself. You should still be able to upload things using your ftp client.But I dont think its a dumb idea to pm an admin. Do that, it wont hurt.

NO! Do not delete anything in your rote folder(the rote folder is the one your talking about)!!All your content should be in public_html folder, your index should be named index (index.htm, index.html, index.php, and so on depending on different things. Im guessing you should use index.htm)These folders are what you get when you have a proper host, with pop mail and such. You dont have to mind other folders than the public_html folder. in the public_html folder you can delete everything BUT the cgi-bin, you should leave that, but It wont do any harm if you delete it, unless you have scripts and such.But just dont delete it. Hope I helped.There is a folder called cgi-bin inside public_html.

Without doubt the content manager that is best is the one you make yourself! Just learn some php and how to use mysql and phpmy admin and it shouldnt take to long! I made my first own content manager just yesterday, and that was the same day I startet learning MySQL! Now im touching up the details. Its so easy that its remarkable that anyone would want to use a script CMS instead, mambo restrains you so much.Now I have an admin panal listing up all the sites I have and I can go edit each and every one. I am, as this cms you mentioned, creating a cms for a counter strike clan site, and when I get to it members will be able to add pcw results and edit there own profil and such, and I know almost how to do it. I startet learning MySQL yesterday, its that simple.Sure, it will take me months to make my content managing system as good as mambo, but what I can do is customize it to perfectly fir MY needs and moreover, MY design. Not some *BLEEP* theme ( I know you can edit it yourself, but your still very restrained).If you enjoy making webpages you should learn to use MySQL and PHP together, its not as hard as you might think! To me it looks like Astahosts banner advertisement account has been suspended. But one of it servers might be down aswell, but somehow I dont think the two incidents are connected.Im confident that it will, ether way, be fixed soon.

For me it averages out at 5 seconds for each load. Which isnt all that bad. The reason is all the data that has to be processed and all the servers it has to connect to. First it has to deside what country your from, then calculate what ads it should show now acording to that. Then, after it has connected to the different servers, done all the quiries, and found out what info it should send to your computer, then it does it. The prosess takes a while cause its so much information that needs to be processed and its not done locally ( I guess ). The information is send to the advertisement server which then desides, its nothing to do with this server.But its not really a problem, at least not for me.

Your not actually paying anything are you. Its kinda like saying a girl is a ***** if she wants you to spend time with you before you sleep together.But, Yes, it is true. You dont get anything for nothing, that just dosnt work, people might have tried but in the end it dosnt work. If you want pay quality webhost then you have to give something for it. Here you give some time, you might even enjoy it. But if its such a pain then just go out and work, get some money and pay someone to host you.

I just created my account a couple of hours ago. Everything goes smooth, no problem. I log in to my control panal and there I see that i've somehow managed to use 29 MB already? Without having done anything! So then my first thought was that somehow you have a default page made to each account. So I log in to my ftp with my username and password to delete this files that use up so much space. When im loged in I see theres some files there, but they are less than 1 MB in total. So no I cant install any scripts using fantastico but for some reason I can upload small files from my computer using SmartFTP. So can someone please explain to me why I have used 29 MB and how I fix it.Thank you in advance,Nqon

Thin lines and logo design is a no-no in my world. I dont like it at all. Calling xbox 2 the xbox360 was a lame thing, they could have come up with a better name. Anyway, the only reason they didnt call it xbox2 was because that would make it sound like an older consol than ps3. They will change it, im sure of it. Althought the games might not be better, but thats another story.Ive heard that sonys processor is almost three times as powerfull as xbox's processor. It will be exciting to compare the two. Saxsux, I doubt that. The reaon for it being called Google X might be because it uses Active X, a coding language that google i very found of (uses it for gmail). Its also a very dangerous language, cause its easy to infiltrate and plant viruses and such on unprotected computers. Thats why most browsers, Opera, Firefox and such didnt have it to begin with, but upon the introduction of gmail they both changed there browsers

Well, its not very long since train was remaid for counter strike source. Im not sure but I think theres an assoult remake for source aswell. Anyway, oilrig just uses the same as the original, so in maps there shouldnt be a big problem. But I understand that making the switch is stupid now that only a small portion of CAL is played in Source (im not up to date on this, but isnt there two invite groups now? One for source and one for 1.6?).Anyway, killer, dont you think that source will take over in a couple of months? There is that problem with the netcode being heavier and the fps drops. There should be some way to tweak it automaticly to run a stable 60-100 fps, depending on your machine. So I think that when they fix the netcode properly and fix some in game bugs the game should be ready for good competive gaming. But we'll see, we'll see
