  1. On top of that, I personally use MS antispyware beta, Spybot search and destroy, and google toolbar.  Haven't had any problems with the three proggies running.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

yeah, microsoft antispyware is surprisingly good. It warns you when anything tries yo add itself to the startup of your pc and ask if you wish to allow it, and also whether you internet explorer home page is allowed to be change, to stop adware changing anything. I still use adaware to scan and remove my spyware and adware though :D its still the best!

  2. looks interesting.

i would love to see sme benchmarks compareing it againsed bochs.

im currently compiling bochs on my amd64 to emulate an x86 for windowsXP.

(im planning on running half-life2 on it, which should be interesting..)

i hope my amd64 3400+ 1GB PC3200 Ram Monster machine can handle it.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

haha of cource that system can handle it. unless of cource you had a nasa super computer with 512 2.GHZ Xeon processors and a couple terabyte of ram., then it probably wouldn't work :D

  3. Anti trust laws prevent microsoft from banning non customers from using one of there *open services*

but the laws do not prevent them from making un-announced protocol tweaks (and effectivly causing open source clients to fail to connect)

well, once again the portocol changes have been programmed into kopete, and dureing gentoo's "emerge --sync && emerge --update world" last night, version 3.4.1 of kde-network was installed, along with a new version of kopete.

i dont have anything againsed gaim, (which i was using while waiting for the next version of KDE) but i prefere kopete.

anyways. update kdenetwork, and kopete will once again work with MSN messenger protocol.

    yipeee.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Does kopete work with windows, like is there a version for windows.

I used to use it when I had linux but I am stuck on windows again. Any ideas?

  4. Hey! I primarily use a Windows XP SP2 when I'm building my website. And, I have to transfer the updates from my personal PC to another PC. But, whenever I do, all the directories that have pictures in them have a bloody file labelled "Thumbs.db." I know what it is, but how do I get rid of them and keep them gone? Thanks!

    Chris

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You don't need the thumbs.db files when uploading to the internet, they are only used to keep settings relating to the folder they are kept in. For example ify ou were to change the layout of a folder from list to thumbnails. thumbs.db will be created with the information to switch view to thumbnail when entering the folder.

  5. It isn't impossible to "beat" playstation, the only thing that is holding it back is the fact that morr producers are making games for it than any other games consoles. The XBOX however is doing suprisingly well considering it is a new console which launched with only microsoft games producer support, and has sold millions of consoles throughout the work. The XBOX 360 will stun gamers with the 500+mhz GPUS. Nintendo however has made no backward compatibility between consoles and hense has lost a lot of their share in the market, which is sad cause i loved Nintendo 64 games like perfect dark, and zelda - very good games.

  6. I use the entire Object Desktop Series by Stardock and it is by far the better of the 2 methods stated in this post  in terms of ease and features. With Object desktop not just windowblinds u get a program manager which allows u to download 1 file whic completely reconfigures the look style and feel of your operating system. from booting to transperancy to the way u open a file (no kidding have u seen photoshop where you can put effects to pictures like bring half the pick from the left and the bottom half from the right and they join in the middle) with Win Fx u can do that to ur My Computer and many more styles to any folder u like. So i suggest if u are thinking of trying windowblinds to go the whole hog and get Object Desktop

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I use this too. It is the best.

You can download from thousands of templates etc

What it does is changes the entire windows shell system to a new and improved system, which lets you pause copying files and skip read errors etc which is really handing when trying to copy from scratched CD's etc. I recomend this program oppossed to windowsblinds :D

  7. I had a copy of the beta version (well I still do) and when I installed it and entered the serial I recieved from microsoftbeta testing, it was all fine until I got the the log on logo screen, and when I clicked log in, it froze. Each time I restared I got the same error. I havn't tried it on more that one computer, so maybe its a hardware configuration error that it can't handle with my pc? I don't know.

  8. This has no effect on the a actual opperating system I believe all it does is change the part in system properties ect, which tells you which opperating system you are running, which means if you are on a website that detects the opperating system, it will detect you are running professional and not home when you are actually still running home. There isn't much difference between the two except things like remote desktop, computer managment etc Just security options, and it can be used on server 2003 more easily than with home.

  9. Gamblin! I dont find any problem in gambling at all aas long you are gambling within the limits of your capacity and with your friends. But if you are gambling in a casino then you must have had understand that you are not gonna win. Online casino is another trick to enduce money from people buy making them believe that they could win which they will not. But of course if you have a lot of money and want to kick up some adrenalin then why not  just dont regret it.

Yes I agree, only bet with what you have, and make sure you have someone that will tell you when you are going over the limit and will make sure you don't get into lots and lots of dedt. We hear so many stories about how many people are gambling everything away and online casinos are helping this a alot.

  10. Yeah, they will destabillize firefox if you tweek it TOO far. But if you use the pre done tweeks proven not to decrease stablility then you will be fine. Just match up the speed of your computer with the speed of your internet and chooses one, then apply in the about.config page. as easy as that!!!

  11. Anyone heard of mozila firefox, well its a better internet browser than internet explorer go to Download Firefox here

Anyway here are some good tweeks that make the browsing super fast. To use them go to the search bar and type about.config

To edit settings bellow use these steps:
    1. Open Mozilla FireFox
    2. In the address bar type: about:config or about:plugins for plugin paths

Below are tweaks, which categorised into each computer situation

  12. Web hosts aren’t just flooding the Internet- casinos are too. I was doing a bit of research about online casinos, and I found that they pay most per click for advertising and dominate the whole top 100 CPC list. I don’t know about you but I have never gambled on an online casino, Internet poker website, or even downloaded any poker software. There income must be extremely high or they just get more than $5.00 per customer visiting their website, as casino adds average on about $4.50 per click! If I did gamble I think it would be better to gamble in person as websites like partypoker.com, offer party poker. It is safer to gamble money in person (well unless you get into a fight of some sort). You can use skills when gambling in casino, its not just all skill. Also payday loan online offers you money to go gamble with. This money has hidden high interest prices and usually leads to bankruptcy. Even msn offers gambling now, amazing. What do you think? :(

  13. If this has just started happening and has only been happening for a short amount of time, then the issue could be your ISP. To make sure its not your router reset the router to factory settings and then re-enter your ISP(inetrnet-service provider) details and try again. If not test your mates router and see if it does the same thing.
