.:OBJECTIVE:. To create an easy and attractive forum signature without excessive know how of the Photoshop program. .:DIFFICULTY:. Medium, must have some rudimentary Photoshop skills and the ability to follow instructions. .:TOOLS:. Photoshop 7.0 or above. .:TUTORIAL:. 1. First of all get this image (image made by me with brushes by silverninja from deviantART). Copy and paste this onto a new sheet in Photoshop. 2. Create a new page (ctrl + N) with a size you feel is appropriate for your creation, I myself prefer 400px by 100px. Now paste (ctrl + V) the image as a background image for your signature, move it around with the move tool (the button on the uppermost right corner of your tool bar) until you are satisfied with its placement. 3. Press ctrl + U to enter the Hue/Colorization box, check both boxes at the bottom and move the three sliders around (hue, saturation, and lightness) until you are satisfied with the color changes on your background. 4. Now comes the difficult part, go on to Google Image Search or Search-22 Image Search and find a character you would like to place upon your signature, Iâm just going to use Cloud from Advent Children as an example. Now copy and paste the image onto a new document, resize it until you feel its size is perfect and paste it onto your signature. 5. Now comes the difficult part, you have to blend this image into the background. Take the lasso tool and draw around the edge of your character, it does not have to be perfect, after you make a full circle, right click inside the circle and choose feather and enter 33 into the box that appears. Press ctrl + C then ctrl + V, delete the previous layer thus leaving behind a ghosted image of what you had before. Take the eraser tool, change the hardness to 0 and size to around 20 and brush around the edges to erase the excessive images that was not take out during the feather, be extra careful around things like hair. 6. Go to Image -> Adjustments -> Match Color (for the bottom part select your signature and then the layer the background image is on) and play around with the sliders until the character further blends into the background. Duplicate the character three times, go to the layer pallet and for the top layer set the opacity at 60 for the middle layer set the blending mode to soft light and for the last layer go to Filter -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur. Again, mess around with the slider until you get the effect you want. 7. Click the text tool, choose a text style you want type out your name, I used Blade 2 and Bitdust from DaFont and did some fancy effect to it (Iâll show you text blending/effects in another tutorial. 8. The final part, create a new layer, now press ctrl + A and go to Edit -> Stroke and choose a 1px black stroke, then make another selection about 2px away from the stroke you just created and do the same thing again, this gives the effect of a transparent border (make sure this layer is the topmost layer). 9. Save this file as a .jpg and host it on ImageShack and update your profile and you are done. .:FINAL RESULT:. Final result achieved with more brushing and stuff... .:COMMENTS:. Feedback welcome and stuff, PM me if you have any problems. I won't put any images up because this tutorial is very much self explanatory, however if you really can't figure it out and HAVE to have pictures to be able to do it, post here, I'll post some pictures.

That is actually not the design of my website (I’ll release mine after I’m finished with a few problems) It’s a site I am making for my old teacher (dude’s like 22 and his pretty chill) as a favor cause his current site isn’t that great. So yea there are a lot of pictures but the picture I am using is just an experiment to see how big of a picture I need to place inside the little area I have. Thank you for all the comments, its much appreciatedTo tell the truth, I am not a very original person as you can tell from the template, I gather the idea from many different sites I visite and combine the best of all of them to come up with my stuff. This one I actually got numerous ideas from a friend, he showed me the diagonals and the nice buttons heh

umm I am not sure that info is correct, I am pretty sure the most used messenger program (not counting IRC) is AIM followed by MSN Messangerfrom personal experience, I have yet to have even ONE contact on my Yahoo messenger list (Maybe cause i have no friends? )If I'm wrong they I guess its a geographic thing for which service you use. -
Notice from microscoping^earthling: Hey Dream, I'd advise you to use the SEARCH button before you make such posts again. This topic with the exact same cotent+some more has been posted quite sometime back. See this post: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/81357-topic/?findpost=1064284424= - If you have anything more to add, you should Search first, and add it to that thread. No use having multiple threads on the same topic. This will only make you loose out on your valuable hosting credits due to repeat posting - a situation which can clearly be avoided by a little careful usage of the Search button. Credits Adjusted (-5 days). TOPIC CLOSED. And come on man, you can do much better.. you're so well off with graphics.. come up with cool stuff for the Designing forum. ~WARNING~ This should only be done with broadband users, I have not tried for dial-up users but it is not suggested .:GOAL:. To speed up your Firefox browser and allow better load times .:Difficulty:. None, this tutorial is step by step .:TOOLS:. Keyboard, Firefox .:Tutorial:. -=note=- mark down your unaltered state first just in case of a screwup and you can revert back to your old settings. 1. Bring up a new tab and type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves. 4. Close Firefox and reload. DONE! You should notice a faster browser and you should be happy, I myself DID NOT COME UP WITH THIS TUTORIAL, i am only bringing this info here so people can see it, if this info has been posted already (I am pretty sure it did not as I did a search on it with the search button) mod please remove this topic and know I am sorry.

Dream1405241490 replied to Shogi's topic in General Discussion
Yea dude I know what you mean, I used to hang out with the "cool" crowd but one thing lead to another and we drifted apart, mostly cause I notice life like that is just crap, its drama, underage drinking, drug abuse, permiscous sex and really just empty and shallow crap.well anyways after I was cast away, I felt really down for a while but then I found new people to hang out with who are LIKE me, we think simailary we actually care about each other, even some people online that I have met (sound lame) are in fact really cool.So my advice is just find people that you like and start enjoying life <-god such a cliche -
mmm ok sorry about that short terse response before 1. Get the brushes: Go to deviantART 2. Go to browse, in the catagory drop down menu choose resources, then choose under the new menu that appears photoshop brushes, in the sumitted menu choose top favorites and download the brushes you want OR just get the following as they are my favorites - Fractals: http://silverninja.deviantart.com/art/25-Incredible-Fractal-By-Ninja-16070301 http://metal-cx.deviantart.com/art/Metal-CX-s-Fractals-II-17260650 http://metal-cx.deviantart.com/art/Brush-set-10-16777316 Abstract: http://metal-cx.deviantart.com/art/Brush-set-11-16912332 http://metal-cx.deviantart.com/art/Brush-set-01-16056024 Those should get you started 3. After you download them put them in a folder then go to photoshop brushes then choose replace brushes and use the ones you want 4. Just experiment because its impossible to give you tips after this point, its all up too you

Dream1405241490 replied to karlo's topic in Software
I'm not too sure about this but I think Virtue Dub is better suited for Digital Video capturing with firewire. when I did that I had no dropped frames, however there is one codec pack, it starts with haff or huff and there is something after it. I will try to find it on google for you. .:EDIT:. I did not find the codec, but I did find this useful webpage -

Dream1405241490 replied to szupie's topic in Introductions

I mean GMail is basically dominating all the other providers, even in the real world, all the other providers are following what GMail does, every time they increase space others follow.so I would say no competition GMail wins by a mile

I made this template It is intentionally smaller to prevent ripping =P umm I need comments and stuff cause I want to improve upon it
-
its a very trendwhoreish work (Not an insult or anything)i'm moving away from tech stuff myself and towards more clean layouts for webpages because it conveys a better sense of professionalism. Also, I don't really like the purple =P

Personally I feel just using filters does not get the effect I really like, for your work to really shine I recommend getting brushes from http://www.deviantart.com/ and search for photoshop bruhes, they have quality ones there

I've been playing Lineage II recently, personally I think its a great game, great graphics, sound and everything.http://www.lineage2.com/en/

Photoshop CS2 Opinions? Is it worth the upgrade?
Dream1405241490 replied to chiiyo's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Personally, I feel there is no need for an upgrade with such a huge price tag, or at least wait for a price drop before buying it. When I upgraded to CS I had to work several projects to save up enough for it and personally I feel CS itself is good enough and it already has enough feathers to get you going. More stuff is just overkill and probably takes up a bit more system resources then just plain CS (Pure speculation, don’t quote me). CS itself already run pretty sluggishly on my PC and it’s a nice one…In a nutshell, don’t do it
