  1. I need to create a database of around 1000 music albums that I can put on my site, with the ability to search the database according to several different criteria. Being a complete and total NOOB to the world of databases, can anyone point me in the direction of some software that will let me create a good-looking and functional database, but that isn't too complicated for me to use?! Sounds like a tall order I know, be grateful if anyone can help though. Thanks! Notice from microscopic^earthling: Topic edited to reflect content better.
  2. Im on myspace but havent had a chance to have a look at profiles and features and stuff - didnt realise it had web stuff so will make some time later to have a look around I think.
  3. I have to say hotmail (though looks like im a minority in this) - its reliable and easy to use, good interface, good features, links in with other services and software (messenger, groups, etc). I've got a gmail and yahoo account but I dont use them very much really. Gmail is great for speed and the layout is good and features are good too, just prefer hotmail.
  4. I've tried kazaa, bearshare, limewire and stuff like edonkey but didn't really like any of them - too much stuff bundled in and too many viruses. I use winmx and bitlord at the mo.
  5. I have to say Coke is my fave - I can't bear the taste of Pepsi. I would love to know what their secret ingredient is though, it must be something addictive as I drink bucket loads of coke (not from actual buckets you understand, I do use glasses!). When I was pregnant it made me sick but I still wanted to drink it, how wierd is that!!
  6. Bit of a newbie me, hadn't though of doing it in a database. I think I like the idea of posting each entry seperately on a page more - even though I know it is a massive task and lots of work for no reward!
  7. I use Ripcast 1.9, as well as being able to add your own URL's, it includes a directory of hundreds of stations and it even tells you what is playing right now. Leave it on overnight and it records hundreds of tracks, seperating them into seperate files. Might not be what you are looking for, as you said you wanted to listen to radio, but thought I'd mention it anyways!
  8. I'm a huge huge music fan, and decided my next project (now that I have catalogued my 1000 or so albums) should be to set up a music website. After much deliberation I decided to set one up, containing album track listings, titbits or useful(less) information, cd covers, links to artists websites, etc. My thought is, I can list over 1000 albums (getting the info from my own collection), so do I categorise them and put a lot on one page, with a linking menu at the top, or do I give each one its own page? I'm thinking 1000 or so pages would take up an awful lot of space! If I categorise them should I do it be genre, alphabetically or by year of release? Maybe I should do it be all three and that way people can search for stuff in whichever way they like. Anyways, enough waffling, please let me know what you think - about the idea for the site as well as the layout and format I have mentioned. Thanks peeps!
  9. I'm pleased to read this stuff as have tried a few webhosts who have been a bit rubbish or not many features, limits, etc. Good to know (from the sounds of things) this place keeps peeps happy and offers lots of features.
  10. My boyfriend pulled my pants down as a joke in the supermarket two weeks ago, and then stood there laughing as he realised I had no undies on!!!!OH THE SHAME!!!!!!!!!Luckily nobody saw (though the security guards looked at me funny as I left...hmmm), but by the time I got to the checkout I was still beetroot red and in my rush to get out and get home, I dropped 12 eggs on the conveyor belt and THEY ALL BROKE.I think I may have to go into therapy to get over this one!! Even worse than the time I rode my bike into a cow (dont ask) and got stuck with my handag on my head in the middle of a crowded shopping street. ho hum.
  11. ROFL at the John Kerry one! I can't imagine anyone will we able to spell the welsh one to go visit the site, even if they wanted to!
