  1. I've installed the game l4d, but not playing. help me! thank you.

Can you provide your system specs or just more information in general since there's nothing we can do to help unless we know more about the situation and your system.

  2. I have absolutely no idea, I've been working with this toner for a few years now :o .

    @xboxrulez: I recently found a 720c in my storage, I must say ... it sucks :o .
    I also had a 690c and a 890c in my storage.
I had to kick the hell out of the 690c before it stopped acting up and I think I bend the cartridge bar and now it's make a horrible sound, it's prints are crooked and it spits ink... but it still works. I've actualy kicked (and thrown around) a lot of old HP printers and I must say ... they are indestructable !!!

I would just send those ancient printers to the recycling centre for processing since I don't have that much room to put these junk.

  3. I would have to tell you that Apple Macbooks sold before January 2009 and they were all coupled with the Intel GMA chips which unfortunately overheats really easily. Just by watching a simple YouTube video on my old polycarbonate Macbook with the Intel GMA 950, my Macbook sounds like a freakin' jet engine. Now that I got a free Macbook replacement from Apple to the "used-to-be-the-latest" aluminium unibody Macbook with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, the problem no longer exist and my Macbook has been quiet ever since.xboxrulz

  4. Since much people told you how to make the particions i will tell how to manage the boots so here it is...

I use windows XP and Vista and it works perfectly this program i will tell you right now

    In my opinion EasyBCD is what you need for your problem;

    What is EasyBCD?

    Taked From the Webpage

EasyBCD is NeoSmart Technologies' multiple award-winning answer to tweaking the new Windows Vista bootloader. With EasyBCD, almost anything is possible. Setting up and configuring Windows boot entries is simple, and there is no easier way to quickly boot right into Linux, Mac OS X, or BSD straight from the Windows Vista bootloader - on the fly, no expert knowledge needed!

EasyBCD is geared for users of all kinds. Whether you just want to add an entry to your old XP partition or want to create a duplicate for testing purposes; if you're interested in debugging the Windows Kernel or septuple-booting your seven test operating systems, EasyBCD is the key.

    Download Here

For a massive multiboot set up, I'd rather use GRUB, it's much easier to maintain than the Vista BCD bootloader.

  5. I still have my Hi5 account to this day ... it's one of those rarely used social networking sites I have an account to like Bebo, Orkut, Hi5 and MySpace. The only social networking website here is Facebook as that's what most Canadians have. Within the young adult circles, if you say you don't have a Facebook account here, it'll be like people getting shocked over others not having an email address.xboxrulz

  6. I for one, also use FileZilla for all my FTP needs and on my Macbook I use CyberDuck. They are so lightweight and easy to use, it's unbelievable. Also, I like the fact that both support SFTP which I need for my college since they just disabled all FTP services for security reasons.xboxrulz

  7. I have 4 GB of RAM, I just have let the system use 2 GB for software cache with 0 "Free" so that the system would be using the RAM to the full potential. Note that caching software doesn't actually really "use up" your RAM as it will flush the cache when an application requires space on the memory module.Usually to clean up RAM usage is to run less applications, this includes background processes that are not system-critical. Many people leave a lot of background processes which eats up their RAM and CPU resources. Furthermore, make sure that you don't have any malware installed as they commonly also use up valuable system resources.xboxrulz

  8. already tried freedos, doesn't work.My current workaround is booting from USB flashdisk, which I don't appreciate because I would prefer a CD version, because some motherboards refuse booting from USB.

ya, it's a pain in the neck. Just 2 revisions ago, my motherboard supported BIOS flashing via USB key.

  9. The Windows 7 Release Candidate has now been released and I have installed it but I can't boot it at the moment (partitioning issues). I did use it for a few hours this morning and it was great. In addition to the new appearance features (desktop slide shows, etc), I find that it detected all my hardware and they worked properly without any driver installations, except for the very old HP DeskJet 656C. It really saved me time and bandwidth to automatically detect all my hardware correctly.

well, if it had Vista drivers, then it will work on Windows 7. Windows 7 is just a minor update to Windows Vista really.

  10. Most virtualisation software including VMware allow you to run a 32-bit guest operating system on a 64-bit operating system. It is also possible to run a 64-bit guest operating system on a 32-bit host operating system as long as the CPU supports 64-bit.
I chose to run 32-bit Windows Vista on my 64-bit compatible computer since not many programs out there at the moment can utilise the 64-bit architecture, with most relying on just 32-bit architecture, though tecnically I should have bought a 64-bit copy of Windows Vista to fully utilise my 4GB of memory.

32-bit software can be run on 64-bit systems as the operating system includes a 32-bit emulator. However, you will find that those programs operate slower than if run on a 32-bit system because of the extra processing required with the emulator.

There's no emulator for 32-bit software on x86-64 processors. The long mode in x86-64 can run 64-bit and 32-bit at the same time. That's why x86-64 is more successful than IA64 which will require 32-bit emulation in order for it to run.

Running the processor in long mode actually allows you to run 16-bit, 32-bit and 64-bit. However, it's just a Windows limitation that you can't run 16-bit software in a 64-bit operating system since there is not much a reason why you would want to. They removed NTVDM which is what made 16-bit software possible on 32-bit Windows.

Windows x64 basically runs the whole system as 64-bit. All the system components are 64-bit. However, Microsoft retains 32-bit libraries and components so that programs can link back to it. It launches an extra layer (like a wrapper) when it detects a 32-bit application being launched called Windows on Windows 64 (WoW64). WoW64 contains all the 32-bit facilities that allows 32-bit software natively on 64-bit systems.

Linux also does something similar to this in order to run 32-bit Linux software on 64-bit Linux systems.

Luckily for those with 32-bit Windows licenses, all you have to do is to torrent a 64-bit image (this is perfectly legal since you have the license to do it). A 32-bit license can be used on a 64-bit copy of Windows.

  11. Jeps, it's a flat desktop with the PCI riser card ...Too bad my dad already returned the pc so I can't test your odd suggestion (which I do believe could work :o )

I rather build my own machine than to buy a Dell ... esp. a Dell. I basically boycott fixing Dells anymore. They are time consuming and pretty a waste of my valuable time and life. I rather people spend a bit more cash and buy a quality machine than to buy 'em cheap and have them break down on you after like a year of use or something.

I'm sick and tired of fixing Dells. I just basically tell Dell users to just buy a new machine 'cuz even if I fix them, they just fall apart again a year later (unless I stick non-Dell parts into them).

Since issue is basically solved, thread closed.

  12. Today on 12:00PM EST, Facebook is allowing their users to vote on how the governing documents will sound like. The choices are either to go for the proposed revised documents or keep the old documents to govern how Facebook is going to govern the site.

On February 26, Facebook announced plans to make site governance more transparent and democratic. Since that time, users and experts around the world have been providing comments on the new documents Facebook proposed to govern the site and replace the existing Terms of Service â the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and Facebook Principles. Facebook has read the comments on these documents and has revised the documents based on this feedback. Now, please vote to let Facebook know which documents you think should govern the site.

I took the liberty to read all the documents and summarized it a bit for people who don't quite understand the documents and to see if you qualify for the vote:

So cast your vote and get your voices heard!

  13. I always like this saying:

A Mac are PCs but PCs cannot be Macs like squares are rectangles, but rectangles cannot be squares

Of course I know you can run Mac OS X on PCs but I'm of course talking about legally obtaining and running it.

I mainly got my Mac as a portable UNIX workstation and multimedia centre. My Windows machine for games and heavy-duty tasks.
