  1. If your are kind of maniac, you should use CRT monitor, becouse these 25, 16 ,12... ms can cost your life ;)Imagine: you are playing some first person shooter game online (CS for example ):Server ping 50ms + your reaction time ~200ms + LCD LAG 25ms = 275msAnother player plays in the same server with CRT, so he has 25ms advantage.Normal human's reaction time is ~200ms, so if you want to compete another player you must react in 200-25=175ms. (I'm not talking about player skills here )If talking about 8ms LCD lag, I think it's ok for playing. But no more than 12ms!for offices and siple home user 25ms lag is no problem. If talking about energy savings and your health, choose LCD...
  2. I used WD 8Gb 0.5Mb cache disc. Still working today. No bad sectors, low noise. But it's to small comparing to my current HDD (Maxtor 120Gb 8Mb cache). My maxtor is running for about one year without any problems. So I'm voting for Maxtor and for WD. Also I know that Fujitsu and Seagate produce good hard disc drives too
  3. I use eDonkey only. It shares many files. But most computers need to be configured to get max performance And if you have LAN or you are behind router it could be difficult to get rare files at all. Then you must to "open ports". If you don't know what this is, your network administrator will surely know So write down these digits and ask your network administrator to be gentle an open these ports. You can find them here in eDonkey:press OPTIONS button and choose NETWORK tab. Your ports are written in the button. You need both UDP and TCP.Next, your Windows firewall must forward these ports too. Difficult huh? That's why most people choose other P2P software, but not me I like eDonkey and I get everything I need from it.
  4. Hmmm... Most used programs I think are these: 1) mIRC (I think I woun't explain what's this... ) 2) Winamp (you know, mp3 player) 3) Nero Burning Rom 6 (newest version, in my opinion this is the best CD burning software) 5) Virtual CD v6 (makes CD available from your HDD, while the real one can lie on shell ) BIG software: 1) MS Office 2003 professional 2) Adobe Photoshop CS (its 8th (newest) graphic editing software version) 3) Norton System Works 2005 (keeps my PC safe from viruses and variuos errors) *Edit : Please do not list programs to obtain software or that kind in an illegal way. I have removed that part of your post. -- MoonWitch
