Photoshop 7 What do You think of photoshop
firedoor replied to jrdonjar0591's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I'm too scared to get CS in case i have to relearn everthing, i know it's stupid but to be honest i'm fine with 7. Another stupid thing i'm going to say is that like an idiot i had no idea you could download new filters. Are the sites to download these included on the resources list? -
apart for the blurryness (sp?) it loosk great, i have a tendancy to overcrowd pictures but i like the way you've magane to keep the image simple and neat while at the same time displaying uses of higher level graphical images.

nothing in this life is free, i'm sure there are some combat sims out there for free, but they proberbly only have a few levels, the grpahics suck and you can only play them online. On the other hand you could download them from a p2p software, if you don't mind the fact thats it's illegal as hell.

this is why i only really play live games and open ended rpg's now. Almost every new game that comes out, wheter it's a fps, platformer or stratergie almost every review will complain that it's too short and i agree. The enharnced graphics and gameplay take away alot of the time. If you look at half life and oppsoing forces, and even unreal they were all playable games, they may not have had the best grpahics at the time (though this can be argued) they had more hours of gameplay than you can shake a stick at (maybe this was just me) and i find them more fun than most games.I feel old.

i tired using bittornado but i got confised and so switched back to bittorrent, and seeing as how i only ever download big files overnight anyway, the time doesn't really matter all that much for me.

I was just wonderign what everyones top 5 favorite programs were on thier pc? My number one has to be Opera, basically I.E 6.0 is crap, they got rid of every good and left you with a browser that radomly desites to close down or order 2000 backcopies of "fishermen weekly" for no apparent reason. I did use firefox for a while but i didn't really take to it, then i got opera and have recently updated to 8 beta i find it really good once you've configured it. Still similar to firefox but i still prefer opera. 2- Photoshop, as i've mentioned messing around in photoshop is one of my pass times, I don't find it as easy to come up with original art peices using it, i need fireworks and 3dsmax for that, but it's useful for putting everything together and blending. And it comes in very handy for designing web graphics. 3- Dreamweaver, i wouldn't have half the site i had at the moment if it wasn't thanks to dreamweaver, really useful but can be a pain in the a** at times. Apart from that i managed to make a semi-proffeisonal looking website about 5 minutes after i installed it. 4- Open Office, as i can't offord MS office this has made a brilliant substitute. I find no reason to go out and buy MS if i have this, it does everything and a bit more (but i have to add that it does a bit less as well). The only down side i have for it is the spell check. I have never and proberbly will never be able to spell too well, and the spell check on this isn't as good as MS's but it does have the Real English words listed as well as the yanks version. 5- MSN Messenger, the only microsoft product to make it too my list, i'm not anti-microsoft, after all i own an xbox, i just go for freeware. I like this program for the very obvious reason that i can cehck up on my mates and my e-mails and have a laugh on it. Editted because of a few not so nice words hope it's ok Firedoor, other then the few cuss words, good post --MoonWitch

Long Live Open Office! love the thing to bits and i wouldn't even consider replacing it.I also use Dreamweaver as i'm a lazy sod who can't be bothered to code proberbly, and also it makes things easier and look more professional. Dreamweaver is apart from photoshop the most useful program i have and it is well worth it especially since you can code in so many langauges using it. The only problem i find is that it's eaiser to have fireworks as well if you need to edit it, that way you can use the interface between the two programs rather than having to edit it in photoshop then opening all the folders ect to load it. Which is kinda annoying as after you load it you need to postion it then change the soruce so that it matches the location on your page which can be a pain. The only problems i've had with it apart from a few minor inconviences were that i made a border from a transparent png then added it over the top of my text, it looked perfect in the desgin view, but when i went in to preview (i use opera for this) it had moved about a mile over to the left. The same goes for frames which are a apin in the *bottom* and therefore i've had to just go without which doesn't look as good.

I;m sure i'm real, i think. How do i know your not just a bot saying that and it's me thats real and in a giant experiment. They could be watching me know, looking at my every move. Hang on kinda like the fact that were watched anyway, well if solipsism is true lets just lie back and enjoy the ride.

Antimatter Science Fiction becomes Science Fact
firedoor replied to Kyle Perkins's topic in Science and Technology
i think one of the advantages is that if you needed power i.e a nuclear submarine for a long time without the enviromental risks this would be useful. It may take the same amount of energy to produce the anti-matter but the transports potential makes up for this. As for part about the reaction, it's more than likley the military are highly interested in this. -

i just use normal bit torrent with the pirate bay -
i though mod:aa was far too short but it's still my favorite moh game. To be honest i think that the AI on it are better than most games sometimes they really surprise you. Also try to do some of the easter eggs, like the bazzoka medic, which is to be honest crazy.

Error 406 - Problem In My Phpbb Forum Actually a problem with Apache
firedoor replied to hihihihi88's topic in Software
i added a mod to my phpbb exactly to the instructions and it didn't work, i checked and checked and chekced again and it was right. But still my forums didn't work. I even restored my settings but the forums still came up with and error. I'm nt saying this will happen to you ,but i had to delte the mysql and upload it and the forums again. luckily it took me 5 mins to do all that which is peanuts compared to what it took to set up in the first place. -
we had a program on a few weeks ago called "the new Ten commandments" and i think number 2 was "take responsability for your own actions. WE live in a sociiety where when something goes wrong, we can blame someone esle even if they were not there. If the goverment was not monitoring every single paving slab to make sure that no cracks appeared then if someone tripped and fell, they could sue the goverment. When in fact the person should have been loooking where they were going. I find people like this perfetic. Fopr every accident that happens millions of man hours goes into preventing maybe a 1000 others from ever happening. If someone steals something, they did it for there own reasons not societies.
