  1. This is true, but for some reason, versions of phpBB Fully Modded want you to fix the file too. I'm not sure why, but all I can say is that they might want to rethink their releases. The one I got was majorly bugged. I had to fix a lot of SQL syntax errors like that.
  2. Well, that just provided a rude awakening. So, I suppose creating a source HTML page with a link to my forums would correct that problem, true? Well, then...just need to find out what to put there. '
  3. *Chuckles* You'd be surprised. I know a few people at my church that still use the old IBM's that only run DOS. I think it's funny, but in truth, that's one of the most useful things to know how to use. It's just a shame the Microsoft had to totally obliterate the use for it, with the exception of safe-mode and the Command Prompt emulator.
  4. Ok, I've had this problem for about a year. I've tried every single configuration offered by the BIOS, Windows, and even the hardware itself, but my speaker's refuse to be balanced! Though Windows says they are, I know my speaker's are unbalanced. The right is louder than the left. I have absolutely no clue what's wrong with it, so here's system specs:Manufacturer: DellModel: Dimension 4600Processor: Pentium 4 with Hyperthreading @ 2.4 GhzRAM: 512 MBHDD: 111 GB Windows Partition | 9 GB Dell PartitionSpeakers: Harmon/Kardon Stereo Speakers with SubwooferSound Card: Creative Sound Blaster LIVE! 5. Though I'm more for the emulator, you can also get Mac OS X on a PC if you get some of Mac's parts that are compatible with your motherboard. Then, all you have to do is get the OS CD and install normally. Though I haven't done this myself, I do know that simply accumulating the parts is a challenge. As for configurations, don't look at me. I haven't touched a Mac since our school switched over to Microsoft products...and you can guess how many security issues we've had with that now. What's really sad is I can change everybody's password from a computer running 2000 or XP. That, and they use an outdated version of Novell Netware, making hacking the network laughably easy. Wish Jason (tech guy) would install Linux on them...
  6. True, DOS is the most stable OS, considering it is the Disk Operating System, but other than that, Windows 2000 Professional Edition is the most stable operating system from Microsoft that has cross-platform and system communications. Though I loathe to admit it, I still prefer XP Professional since I have total control over the computer via the Administration Tools. As for Mac OS X, I have one question: where in the world did you get the money for a Mac?! Favorite OS? Pretty much anything with Linux, though I'm not much of a connoisseur.
  7. Yeah, that's right. Resident Evil isn't the only thing keeping Capcom alive. There's also the enormous, and longer lived, series of Megaman, Megaman X, and Megaman Zero (my personal favorite). The Megaman series was started way back, when the NES and Game Boy first came out. The Megaman X series came out during the SNES time and is still going, right into PS2 and Gamecube. The Megaman Zero series was just recently started, with the invention of GBA, and is now at it's 3rd installment. Needless to say, the X series is stronger than the Zero series at this point, considering it's been out longer than I've been alive, but the Zero series is definitely a lot better for more...*clears throat* graphic and bloodthirsty gamers. The MM community has a lot of websites, with the obvious inclusion of Capcom, but also Ciel-Network, Megaman Network, Zero Network, etc. etc. My recommendation is that you visit the Ciel-Network (yes, it's a site for Megaman girls, but that doesn't mean they don't have good content) at http://www.ciel-network.com/ From there, you can see a list of good affiliates and more information on the series. If you know of the series' existance and like it, I'm planning to start a MMZ roleplaying event on my site, The Creative Connection (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/), if you would care to join. Have questions about getting items or strategies for bosses? I'd be willing to share mine. Just give me a shout.
  8. Ok, let me show you the reason why console wars are overrated: anyone ever heard of "emulators?" If you ask me, it's one of the best inventions on the internet. They have an emulator for just about every single console on the market, along with ROM's and compatible CD Drivers that will read the disc's out of your CD-Rom, especially considering that the consoles now are computer entertainment systems. Thus, the better investment is in a computer with a nice, big HDD, more than 1 GB of RAM, a nice video card, and a CD Drive. Sound good?
  9. I don't know if you have fixed this or not, but fixing it is relatively easy. You permissions for cpanel.php are not set properly. You should be able to change them via the cPanel or an FTP client. Simply edit the permissions to where it is executable by all. I'm not sure what permission number that is, but that's how you fix it. If you do that, the other's should be corrected as well.
  10. Thanks for the support. I know that we haven't had much activity lately, mainly because there has been no where that we can advertise and we have very few affiliates/sponsors, but I'm hoping that I can draw in a few more users by freeing up limitations to save space. What most disappoints me is the fact that no one has the ability, or want for that matter anyway, to do whatever they want. Either that or they don't understand the copyright laws very well. Just because I prohibit copyright infringing works, doesn't mean that un-original ideas can't be used. You can use anything, so long as the original creator is given credit. In any case, advertise to other people, please. I know this site is a good idea, but getting people to want to use original ideas seems to be unpopular. That or they don't realize that they can use anything.
  11. Ok, you are obviously using a version of phpBB. I'm pretty sure I can see what the problem is, but I'd still like to know what version you are using. Just to be safe.
  12. No problem. I'm pretty sure that it won't be too hard to find. You can probably check out Wal-Mart or some specialty shop. (Found mine at Gamestop.) Only problem would be video card configurations. It's quite difficult to find the design that works best with your computer and video card. Either way, happy hunting.
  13. Thank you for the clarification, amkint. In any case, I agree with you as far as wind and solar power go. There just isn't a way to successfully and consistently harness that energy, though I'm sure you could create some sort of solar panels inside the Tokamak. I don't know why you would though.
  14. Not necessarily. You CAN decode them. You just need to know how to manipulate and read hexadecimal values. Either way, finding the hexadecimal code for your user's password is fairly simple. 1.) Access phpMyAdmin 2.) Open the database for your forum 3.) Locate the table called "[your database's prefix]_users" (The prefix will usually be phpbb_ unless you changed it during installation) 4.) Click the "Browse Tab" 5.) Locate the row of the user you are looking for 6.) Locate the colum titled "user_password" There, you will see a hexadecimal code for that user's password. Now, it is encrypted, so I can't tell you how to break the encryption algorithm, but I would think it would be fairly simple to decode the hexadecimal coding. Have fun breaking the encryption algorithm! Oh, and by the way, why would the Pentagon want to hack a phpBB 2 database?
  15. Perhaps you missed my point here: Nuclear Fusion IS the power of the sun. The full power of it that can be harnessed at any time. Also, I'm almost positive that there is no way that it can be used as a weapon, let alone have any serious accidents, due to the very delicate conditions that have to be met for a successful fusion reaction as well as the uncanny weight of the Tokamak. I assure you that this form of nuclear energy is much safer than the now used Nuclear Fission reactors.
  16. Ok, I found it (after searching for a while). Anyway, here's how to change a users post count (Note: This does not change the posts that are on the board already! This only changes the value that will be displayed for that user's Post Count!):1.) Access phpMyAdmin2.) Open the database that your forums are using3.) Locate a table named [your database's prefix]_users4.) Click the "Browse" tab.5.) Locate the row with the name of the user you wish to edit6.) Click the "Edit" button7.) Locate the column/area titled "user_posts"8.) Enter the NUMERICAL value you wish to have it set as9.) Go to the bottom of the page and select the "Save" option and the "Go back to this page" option10.) Click "Go"11.) Check the values of the column you just edited. If the value is set to what you changed it to, it worked. If not, there was a problem saving and you need to contact your webmaster. That's it!
  17. Well, you would be right in that assumption. Metroid Prime, which was a big thriller for old-skool Metroid fans considering Nintendo hadn't made another game in years, was the all-time best FPS for the Gamecube, and probably Nintendo's whole line of games so far. As to whether or not MP2: Echoes will replace MP for that position, it's hard for me to say, considering I've only played the demo and haven't been able to dig up much more than a few strategies and other info from Nintendo and Retro Studios. Either way, I'd recommend it to any FPS fan; whether you like Gamecube or not. My only regret about the games is there's no manual 3rd person mode for those confusing or small spaces (with the exception of Morph Ball mode) which makes it very difficult to navigate, though that doesn't occur often, considering each area has its uniquities.
  18. You know, Google also offers a special autoconfiguration utility that you can download and it will make the necessary configurations to your e-mail client (currently only available for Microsoft Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook 2002 or older). Which, might I add, works well if you are using a school computer, since it is only 54.1 KB and most schools support Microsoft. *Shivers* For a complete list of mail client configurations, you can visit https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7126229?rd=2&visit_id=0-636159185886412439-3485939605 [You need to login though.]
  19. So long as you have access to phpMyAdmin, or phpBBMyAdmin, you have access to changing user's posting counts. All you have to do is locate the table that the data is stored in and then edit the values of the appropriate column/row. I'll look into it for you, considering I need to make a few modifications to my forum's database anyway.
  20. I agree. Cold fusion is definitely something that would be much better, but for the moment, this seems like the easiest and least resource-consuming project. As for fossil fuels, I also agree. It's just a shame that our government has failed to except the inevitable yet. We are going to have to develope or force public transportation soon enough, unless we find better, more efficient, and cleaner fuels to use. Or we could always support a few teleportation theories.
  21. Does anyone else own Halo for the PC? What about Halo Custom Edition? Both have awesome multiplayer features! For example, Halo for the PC has Rocket Warthogs, Fuel Rod Guns, and Flamethrowers. Halo Custom Edition, after making with Halo Editing Kit, has custom maps, weapons, and vehicles! Also, I'm trying to set up a small clan, the Hybrid Elites [HE], so if you are ever online, look for a game titled [HE] Hybrid Elites - Tryouts. Here are some nice modifications that I found. They usually involve patch (.ppf) files, so I hope you are computer literate and have the correct applications for applying them. Halo for the PC: Attention! Any patches that are made to files used on both Single Player and Multiplayer (E.G. sounds.map, bitmaps.map, etc.) may create weird textures and incorrect backgrounds on certain objects. Backup your .map files BEFORE you edit them! -The Library for Multiplayer by MonoxideC [includes Nuke Rocket Launcher] -Assault on the Control Room (AotCR) for Multiplayer by MonoxideC [includes driveable Pelicans and Wraiths] -Halo 2 Mod by NiTrOuSoXiDe [Mods too numerous] All you should have to do it go to Google (https://www.google.de/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=7AkjVIatDsKH8QfNkoC4DQ&gws_rd=ssl) and search for these and you should find something of relavance.
  22. Ok, I'm going to say this and I'm only going to say it once along with support that the entire evolutionary theory is invalid and is constantly backfiring upon supporters of Darwinism. Not to provide any disrespect, considering I should know the trouble with such issues (and I know there will be that one person who decides to hate me for disproving this), but there are obviously some major conflicts here and I'd hate to know I could have stopped it from devleoping much more. However, believe what you want and feel is right; not what people tell you is right. Note: Due to the limit of text that can be placed in one post, links to the articles have been provided. 23. Directed Age Group: All Ages Site Type: Forum Community (phpBB Fully Modded; "Fine-Tuning" in process) User Registration Requirements: -Age -Security Code Verification Creator: Jace Walker (Admiral Lyoko Samus) URL: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ [if redirect fails, here's the hierarchy: /forum/portal.php] The Creative Connection was a site founded to give people the freedom of creativity as well as a way to exert it into a tangible (though electronic data is technically intangible) form; all while maintaining a few moral boundaries. It's purpose is for the sole exercising of people's minds and to encourage them to become more active in mental activities. The site has after-effects of faster Critical Thinking, larger imaginations, greater information handling, multi-tasking capabilities, and more, making it an enjoyable, yet beneficial, place to expand one's mind. The Creative Connection offers sections for people to display their fictions and artwork as well as get some feedback (totally constructive. Destructive criticism is prohibited and strictly enforced.). We also offer a fun events called "Roleplays" or RP's. We hope to find a sufficient secondary server soon to accomodate for the vast amount of data that would be created by video and audio works soon. Our Administration is working day and night (mostly nights) to make sure our users and the site are safe, secure, and operating efficiently, all while keeping the users out of trouble with copyright laws. Though the site still has a few errors, including cross-browser template formatting, database corrections, and other miscellaneous and minor errors, we are confident your experience there will be free of confusing and agitating errors. We are always looking for recruits to the Administrative team. We need a site logo, advertisement/affiliations, and (possibly) another Webmaster. Naturally, donations for space are gratefully accepted as we take great pride in our sponsors. If you would like to aid The Creative Connection, please send an e-mail regarding it to zeroequalsjrw@gmail.com or The.Creative.Connection@gmail.com Please send any questions to the latter address.
  24. Ok, I'm not an environmentalist, but I strongly support the scientific community in Europe's determination to finding a more efficient energy source. I was browsing the web the other day and came upon an excellent description of a new fusion project that was started. The EFDA (European Fusion Development Agreement) has been supporting the JET (Joint European Torus) project. This project has involves the use of a machine, called the "Tokamak," to start a stable and extremely efficient nuclear fusion reaction. As most here may know, fusion is the very same nuclear reaction that goes on in the stars and our Sol, yet some stars are gigantic in comparison to Earth and produce so much electromagnetic energy that it seems impossible for us to even examine them sufficiently. How can that much energy be contained? To explain this, I must first describe the Tokamak's design. The Tokamak consists of an Iron Transformer Core (Magnetic Circuit), a Primary Transformer Circuit (Inner Polodial Field Coils), Toroidal Field Coils, and Outer Polodial Field Coils (to shape and position the contained plasma). The engineers that designed it have created an ingenius way to contain the hazardous reaction. By using a series of magnetic coils and other magnetic equipment, they can shape the plasma as well as nullify most of the radiation emitted by the reaction. As for the energy output, we must go over what fuels are required. To start a successful reaction, there must be 1 element and 2 Hydrogen isotopes: Lithium, Deuterium, and Tritium. Deuterium is very abundant, considering it can be extracted from water, but Tritium is not made naturally; thus, the Lithium, which is also abundant in the Earth's crust. Now, take a taste of the power that can be generated: with only 10 grams of Deuterium (which can be acquired from 500 liters of water) and 15 grams of Tritium (produced from 30 grams of Lithium), you could create a lifetime of electricity for a person in an industrialized country. Safety? The project is surprisingly safe for the type of reactions made. Due to the Tokamak's magnetic fields, most of the radiation created is nullified, relieving fears of radiation poisoning, and the requirements for a fusion reaction are so delicate, that it almost has a natural failsafe. If any contaminates enter the plasma or it goes below a certain temperature, the reaction almost immediately ceases. As you can see, this project is definitely something worth looking into and supporting. All information was extracted from https://www.euro-fusion.org/ More information is provided, if you wish to explore the site, as well as brochures, historical documents of the organization, and information on basic fusion reactions.
