What And Why You Believe please write logical posts.

Really? Then it is your duty to stone to death women that have had sex out of wedlock.Fact is, that like most religious individuals, you pick and choose your own rules. -
I'm not sure that they would be able to show all the videos that they have on google because of copyright issues.

The Meaning Of Life An philosophy discussion
webguide replied to hast-webben's topic in General Discussion
Why would you need someone else to tell you your position in life? Make your own. I read somewhere that the higher up you go on the economic ladder the lower belief people tend to have. I look around and this makes complete sense. Look at the rich countries and the poor countries and their difference in faith. -

Right, I don't believe in god but I can kind of understand why others would. But religion is something else altogether. And your right about christians being hypocritical. For example the bible says you should stone to death any women who has sex before marriage, which is something that Christianity has enforced for most of its existance. Now most normal people would not agree with this law yet they still call themselves Christians. -

Don't get me wrong i'm not just taking aim at Islam, all the biggest religions have had very violent times during their history. Infact no religion comes close to the amount of destruction that Christianity has created. But at the moment Islam is the religion in which followers take their holy book literally. After all, that is what a fundamentalist is, someone who believes the whole religion and doesn't pick and choose. As for how Islam used to be, I don't know what your information sources are but I advise you to look through the religions own account of how the faith was created in the form of the Hadith's. The Hadith literature, as a whole, was handed down in Arab society until the mid 700s and is widely accepted by the muslim community. It contains some sickening information. -

Political correctness aside, most of the muslims in the world are fundamentalists. Do you have any idea of the sickening rules of a Islamic Law country? A small example would be that in order for a rape to even get to court you need four male witnesses. And history has shown that whenever muslims have the chance they will vote for Islamic Law. -

I totally agree. The same events in history are recorded by many cultures, each of which attributes it to their own god. Not that I blame them, they only created a theory from the knowledge they had. Not just with gods but with many of the things they saw. For example most of the people on earth, thought the world was flat because of the limits of what they could see. We now have far less limits on our knowledge, thats why such a small percentage of people in the west truly have faith. -

I don't see anything that amazing about chronicling history, it's something every civilisation in the world has done, many of which started long before the Christians. As for the prophecies, can you give me an example? -

wedjarl, you say that nobody can disprove the Christian faith, well wouldn't the same thing apply to every other faith. Every faith believes their correct and everybody else is wrong. Certainly Christian's don't have any more evidence for their religion then the jews or the buddists. I personally don't understand why other atheists create these sites to disprove beliefs, there's no need. The world is based on survival of the fittest, lower lifespans are directly linked with higher belief. Thats why the "sinful" nations of the world are doing so much better the religous ruled countries. -

For me, I don't believe in god, for the simple reason that I don't see any reason too. . There is no proof, it is a thoery. I am one of the growing number of people that believe two hands working do more than a thousand clasped in prayer and would not spend my time contemplating if any one of the thousand or so religions is true. -
Thanks, its only a very quick site, i'll add some proper content later. Anyway, after loooking at your site I think you need to figure out what your demographic is (age, gender, etc). Do 2 or 3 surveys and then add some affiliate links targeted to your users, otherwise you probably won't make much money, the average banner has a very low clickthrough rate and an even lower conversion rate.
-
Survey affiliate programs don't make very much money, but if you want to be paid per click then I would probably go with adsense. Although the amount of money you get per click is dependent on the content of your site since adsense is contextual advertising. What is your site about?

Google's the best because of the lack of clutter plus the huge amount of tools it offers web developers. -
I guess if you earn enough money they want to tax you on it.

Browser War! Ideal Browser for Web Designing
webguide replied to arunkumarhg's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
The best broswer is firefox but the "standard browser" is internet explorer, simply because it has the largest number of users. You know the old saying "the customers always right". -
When I say faster I mean the speed at which the application runs. Isn't imageready more for optimizing then actually creating images. Anyway my recommendation is gimp.

Ever been to a website that is barely readable because of the bad color design? Well here's some tips to make sure that you don't fall into the same trap. * Black text on a white background, while not exciting, is the most practical color combination. * Try and not use more then four colors on your website, too many can be disorientating for the user. * Find out what each color represents to the users mind. For example green represents wealth while red represents daring. * Don't use yellow for web page backgrounds. * Take a look at Visibone or get any number of color charts that are avialble on the internet if you cannot create a suitable combination yourself. * I've found the best color combinations to be monocrome. Which means multiple shades of the same color. NOTE: make sure there is contrast between the colors, or else the text will be diffecult to read. Hope thats helpful

Do not waste your time simply submiting to every search engine you can find. Just submit to google, yahoo and msn, these take up most search traffic. Then get sites with high pageranks to link to you. To find a sites pagerank you need to download the google toolbar and then browse to the right site. The pagerank will be displayed on the googlebar.

It is generally agreed that the best free graphics package is gimp. I know that large CGI movie companies use it plus its completely opensource and much faster then photoshop. Although the interface can be diffecult to get used to.
