  1. That's odd, it is working fine for me.

The color selector is only a screen shot image that has been edited so none of the links and things will work.

It is just to get an idea of what it could look like.  It requires the use of javascript though.

The rest of the website seems to be working fine for me.,  Maybe some leftover negative energy from the server since it got fussy.

Please have another look and tell me what you think.

It seems I was trying to visit your site when the server drives were being fixed. I can now see your home page again. However, the color viewer page only shows this:

My Javascript works fine. I don't know what the problem might be.

  2. Hey I did some quick color schemes for my template.  Please have a look and tell me what you think.

Hopefully this will give a better picture of what would be possible with the current template.

This page doesn't seem to work. Your site also seems to be having problems at the moment. Please post a message when you have it up and running again so I can check it out. :(

  3. I was asked to do a poster for a regular open mic night. It had to be non-artist specific, but still advertise what's happening. It is supposed to be sort of occicial looking rather than wildly creative. I'm not thrilled with it, but it will get the job done.

    Any comments? Thanks. :(

This poster is now hanging at the Rosewood Theatre. It looks WAY better on paper than on screen. I'm really pleased. :(

  4. These are pretty effective I think. Nice, consistant color choice. Good thematic fonts. I love how it sort of resembles an old west wanted poster. I actually don't even see anything I think could be tweaked and that's extremely rare for me.

    Anyway, great work on these.

Geez, thanks! I've looked through your artwork before. Coming from you, that's a huge compliment! :(

  5. There's little that users should care about in all of this, unless you have a personal love for anything IBM and will be sad to see it continue to be sectioned off, sold, discontinued, shutdown, etc. The old company will probably be gone within a few years. Intel is merely providing replacement chips to Apple because IBM is gradually going away, as evidenced by IBM's selling off their PC hardware division to a Chinese company not long ago.

And by the way, despite what Intel's hundreds of millions of dollars in advertising tells you, they are running scared of lil' ol' AMD. It will take them several years to catch up in the 64-bit market - the future of computing - so they're trying to make all kinds of deals and shouting them to the public in the hopes of maintaining the appearance of strength. (Remember all the crowing last year ago about Intel providing chips for Dell's mobile devices??? Never materialized.) Yes, they still have much more market share than AMD ON EXISTING SYSTEMS, but as old machines come out of server rooms, off of desktops and replaced in laps, it shall dwindle.

Apple doesn't NEED Intel. Intel NEEDS Apple. Intel provided the low bid with a high production estimate. Any chip maker can take on the task nowadays. Apple merely gets to benefit from a widely known name of Intel, not some major advance in technology.

This is no major advance or setback in the world of computing. This is marketeers trying to make stock prices go up, not make our lives easier. :D

  6. I'm a Jetta owner so I wish great things for your site! :D

First, in terms of color choices, the grey and white theme is boring, but not awful. Is it the default color scheme? Anyway, I'm partial to green, either a Beetle green or Forest Green theme would be great. I'm thinking that a nice effort could be made to match a VW interior/exterior color scheme to the site layout. Ya know, Dark base color then contrasting tints for highlights and slip in some light and dark greys for accents. Then match your banners and other graphics to the site colors. But green isn't the only answer.

The overall layout is pretty good for what it is. One suggestion I would make (if at all possible) is to move the login form to the top right corner, put the Newsflash just below and then the poll.

Finally, I find User Ratings generally useless. That's just me. Someone else may see value in them, but for what you are doing, I see no reason. If it were my site, I'd turn them off.

I hope I was helpful. Good luck with the site! :D

  7. So when i'm in my cpanel account I went under the section "Site management tools" then to "file manager"  Then on the file manager I uploaded a music file. so now,  i clicked on properties and then found the URL and when i tried playing the music file on another site, i cant hear any music?? is their some other step i need to do? or did i do something wrong??

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I don't understand by "playing the music file on another site." Do you mean that you are using your hosting to store the music file and you have posted the link on a site that has a different host? If so, that should not be a problem. The only reason that would not work is if you got the URL or the file name typed incorrectly.

Do you have spaces in the file name? Does the file name use and odd punctuation? Is it an mp3, a wma, an ogg, real audio, etc?

More info would help solve your problem.

    :D

  9. Can any Traktor DJ Studio users answer this question? Is it possible to have Traktor playing tracks from a playlist, going from song-song automatically, then you cue a new track not on the playlist, it plays the track and then automatically resumes the playlist?

So you understand, I'll paint a scenario. Imagine having a laptop behind the bar at a venue playing music over the house system. The person behind the bar can leave the music unattended most of the night. From time-to-time, they can quickly change the next song and resume whatever they were doing. After the song plays, the jukebox continues.

I may get Traktor if this works for me. I know there's other software out there that may be able to do this. All ideas are welcome. Thanks! :D

  10. Ok here is my problem, i love playing around with songs, mixing them together. I use Acid Music 3.0 and pretty much mp3's. I dont have a massive loop library so all i really do are make megamixes of groups and songs i like. Anyway, i wanna branch out and actually remix songs, but i can never find just the words of a song, or a program that can isolate the vocal tracks.

So my question is does anyone know of a free site that has a vocal library, or at least a program that can isolate the vocals. I prefer free or cheap cuz this is just a hobby at the moment  :D Thanks :D

You could try Audacity, a free audio editing suite. You can download plugins for it that can do all kinds of things. Like, if you want to take a vocal track out of a song to record your own, get the Center Pan Remover plugin. Load your .wav or mp3 into Audacity, run the plugin and start singing!

There are plugins for almost everything imaginable, a lot are free. You can buy really great high-end plugins that can be used with Audacity, as well.

    Good Luck! :D

  11. The 9200 will let you spend a lot less to get a lot more than what you have. The difference in performance between to 9200 and 9550 won't be really noticable unless you're going to be doing SERIOUS gaming or high-end graphic design or video editing. If you ARE going to be doing a lot of things that are going to chew up your video resources, I would recommend saving up and buying something even more sophisticated than the 9550.
