And since the rich always become richer, it seems Microsoft Windows will be gaining the bigger OS Pie.Whats more, I have just read that Longhorn will have 3D window interface (i might be slow here). This is really quite a drastic step! I wouldn't do that just to make my computer faster mainly because: 1) backing up and restoring data and programs is a tedious process 2) In another few days it will accumulate with 'unnecessary' softwares again... and then I will need to do another reformat... Learning how to tweak your system seems to be a better solution, for me at least.

Will there be other trade off setting the File System to "Network Server" when you are not really a network server? You mentioned that more data is cached when reading from the disk and thus will be faster. Some questions popped up in my mind as I just studied file management systerm. What I know is that you still have a fixed amout of cache in your computer, so caching more data doesn't make any sense as some other data in the cache will have to be removed from the cache for thie 'more data' to be written to the cache.

But photoshop itself has vector tools too. Or is there something special about illustrator's vector graphics? Your lizardman is really cool. Did you just do that with Photoshop? And I just got a tablet not long ago

I have not tried most of the software u mentioned but for me, tweaking involved not running unneeded processes. Run msconfig and under services and startup are a bunch of processes that are not needed.

I have seen the tweak in here before: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ There are many other useful tweaks there and the Firefox tweak is probably the best.

I sort of think most people knows how to design simple web site, including myself. It seems like nobody is mentioning any figures from web site designing

I have used Photoshop and find it excellent for doing many things. The only exception is that it is not easy to draw what I have in mind cos maybe I am not familiar with the tool.I am more keen to know what is the difference between Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Anyone knows the diff? Is Illustrator use more for drawing since it is called 'illustrator'?

For a normal typical user, I would say that Windows is a better OS as it is easier to use. And since most software developer sort of develop their software with Windows in mind, Windows has become the mainstream OS. I would give Windows +1 as more users are just typical user and would prefer an easy-to-use-OS.
