Check It Out: Finnaly I Get My Site Done need your opinion
silenx replied to danagym's topic in General Discussion
It is a strange site and a strange language... I wan't crit but I have no clue what is going on. Ok, this is what i saw, looks like a member's only photo gallery with 2 huge ad banners, one top, one bottom. -
nice simple design. i think you should have a little more variation in the text. headlines, menus, content they all look very similar. Let's say somebody found your site on google. That person may pass it because he or she doesnt want to spend time digging your site to find what they're looking for (even if it is there). Variance and contrast will help you put things in focus, you can use this to lead the visitor's eye around the site. A lot of site, u visit you will see the important content very clearly, it'll catches ur eye immediately. For example, a portfolio, GALLERY link or newly updated items will be very large and clear to see. I don't think the clock is neccesary as most ppl will have it shown on their taskbar already.

I like your designs, very clean and organized. I think you might be better off without the page transition script. These are professional sites, I think it's more practical to do without the diffuse-thing. -
It's funny, just a couple days ago when my WoW server was down, some of my friends wanted to play it. I couldn't find my cd to install it and almost head out to buy the SC Battlechest !It's one of the few games where 1 player is able to take on 2 or *maybe 3 other players. I've took on 2 players many times in instances where my partners is dropped or disconnected. Unlike War3, there is no way you can take on 2 players unless they are absolutely new to the game.Only 3 race, but each one is very unique and fun to play. I usually play random, but if I really must choose a favorite... I'm gonna have to go with the Zergz. The reason I stopped playing this game was due to D2. I was amazed to find some very good players dont even use the keyboard shortcuts, shocking .

Diablo 2 isn't a mmorpg (neither is Gunbound). Very fun game nonetheless, made many "valuable" memories such as skipping school, work, and sleep. Blor, you may have ur D2 account stolen due to using hacks or bots. I've played the beta for Ragnarok, but it wasn't a convincing mmorpg to pay a monthly fee for. I started using bots in RO and that's when I knew it lost its gameplay value (for me at least). I currently play World of Warcraft, so far so good. The first month or so, I don't think I even slept at all . For those of you who wants to play a mmorpg, I really recommend giving this a go if you dont mind the 40$ for the game and 15$ a month. WoW server seems to have at least 1 problem a week eversince launch. As a matter of fact, it was down for like 1hr today. In which I was forced to return to Warcraft 3 in that timespan.

I played it since beta and ended with steam... at this point the replay value started to degrade rapidly. CS was a blast around 1.3 when you have like 10-20 of your friends join in for a lan party. An awesome multiplayer fps game while it lasted.

GIMP, as far as legally free graphic software goes.

Template Designing How to make a good template?
silenx replied to friso's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I recommend using GIMP (https://www.gimp.org/). It is free and has Photoshop-like functions. Although I have never actually fully evaluate the program I have heard many possible reviews about it. The main thing is, it is free and a whole lot better than using Paint . As for free webauthoring programs, u can use Netscape Composer, Frontpage, etc. There are many free ones out there, but only a few have visual layout. I recommend keeping in mind the following: COLOR: Dont use too many colors, stay away from making ur site look like a bag of skittles... unless that's what the site calls for. Limit your palette. CONTRAST: You may want to make areas of focus to stand out from the rest. Usually, web designers will have a midtone (DARKEST---<midtone>---LIGHTEST), and the text or content will be either light or dark. A good example is the skin/template for this forum. ORGANIZATION: I think this area speaks for itself. You want your links/content to be legible and easy to find. I hope to see your work soon.
