Notebook Or Laptop? Whats the difference, if anything?

As I know of it lately, "notebooks" are the more correct ways of calling the things, and "laptops" are slangs used as "notebooks" have a common confusion with the one you write on. -

Maybe they wanted to be an independent organization where they would have more freedom to design and do other things.
