  1. Don't forget to delete the stuff in your temporary internet files folder. This folder gets filled up when you visit websites. Its the same place where it stores cookies and images to make pages load faster.
  2. Another explanation might be that your power supply is probably dying. The power supply is not outputing a stable current anymore which causes power fluctuations. This may account for your computer restarting automatically. But i doubt thats the problem. Sometimes I get random restarts too. My power supply is fine and I don't have any trojans or viruses either.
  3. I wouldn't rely on this information that much if I were you. As stated on the website they only tested several dozen people. Also the testing isn't very tightly controlled so the results don't represent everyone.
  4. Go to http://download.cnet.com/windows/ They have programs for everything. Just search for what you want. Some of them are shareware but they still give you a free trial.
  5. If you're hosting a server for anything, then you'll probably want a static ip addresses. Other than that it doesn't matter which one you choose. Even if you're hosting a server, you can still use a dynamic ip address. You'll just have to use a dns service that links a hostname to your ip address.
  6. Isp companies can still track you even if you have a dynamic ip. Every computer has a unique id. The isp just has look through their logs and find the ip addresses that have been used by that same id.
  7. Bandwidth does not matter as much as how well the servers stand up to the traffic. It all depends on how many users the server can support to how many people are trying to access the site at the same time. So if there are more users than the number the server can support the server will probably go down. So if a website is hosted on a good server and it has limited bandwidth the worse that can happen is that the bandwidth will run out. Then the website will not be shown anymore. This is totally different than the server crashing due to the amount of traffic coming in.
  8. I would say learn C first. Yeah like another poster stated it should be c++. Java is based on c++. It was designed to eliminate the overly complex features that c++ had. Both languages are powerfull and pretty much do the same thing. However, java is just simplier to use. I say learn c++ first because if you know it really well then learning java would be really easy.
  9. A good way to help fight spammers is to link to this website. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ This webpage randomly generates a 100 email addresses. At the bottom is another link that leads to more randomly generated email addresses. Email address harvesters or spambots would just fill up their databases with fake email addresses and continue to follow the link. They'll eventually end up in an infinite loop.
  10. If you want to look at a list of free hosts go here. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Thats how I found out about Xisto. They have lists of other free services such as free webspace, image space, dns services, etc. They also give reviews on each site too and ranks them according or their scores.
  11. Two popular spyware programs like Adaware and Spybot Seach & Destroy gets rid of the spyware currently on your computer. If you want to prevent spyware from being installed in the first place, you should try using Spyware Blaster. This program changes some settings in your registry so that spyware cannot be installed in the first place. adaware http://www.lavasoft.com/ spybot search and destroy https://www.safer-networking.org/ spyware blaster http://www.brightfort.com/spywareblaster.html
