of course i query first the $sql variable with mysql_query($sql).. anyway just a follow up question.. what function parameters shoudl i pass to mysql_num_rows() to be able to get the row count of let say for example WHERE sex = 'male'.. something like that.. what i realy need is not all the row count of a single table but certain rows that contains certain data...

hi..i'm new in php and mysql... here is my problem....$sql = "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM messages WHERE _parent={$row['_id']}";after sending the query above i dont know how to fetch the actual rows counted..i tried using the mysql_fetch_array() and mysql_fetch_row() function but it didnt work...actually the only function i know that fetches results from sql queries is mysql_fetch_array()...so what function or code i need to have the result from the query which uses COUNT?

Ive read thread about emulators. It mentioned there PS2 Emulator.So here is my question, when you use this emulator are you going to buy the DVD game or not?Is it like playing PS2 too or not? I mean is the quality good?I don't have a PS2 unit and don't have plan in buying one. But if PS2 emulator are good then I might buy PS2 games and play it in my computer

its easy to track person specialy with mobile phones. In mobile phone technology, a city for example is divided into cells (thats why they call it cell phones). The center of these cells are the base station or what we call cell site. Everytime you step into a cell your mobile phone is acquired and own by that cell and as you move along and transfer from cell to cell within the city so is the ownership of your signal. So the idea is to locate which cell you belong and they then use other devices to triangulate your signal so they will know where you at exactly.The best part is, when a cell, for example 5 kilometers in raduis is overwhelmed by many users or subscribers it is divided into smaller cell let say 1 km in raduis or even less.

actualy there are two type of usb ports.. the small one and the big one. the small one are found in digital cameras and digital video cam. The big one is of course in computers such as laptops. But, i havent seen or heard that laptops uses the small port. I believe there is no firewore mouse yet available since it would be just a waste of resources coz this port are very high speed and it will be useless to just put a mouse on it.so it seems that the laptop only has the small usb ports that is found in digital cameras. thats weird. i guess you have to make do with the small mouse

hi.. i have this website which is of course hosted by Xisto, anyway its services includes public message board, group message board and personal messages. This website is actually for online gaming. The goal is to have a place where online gamers can communicate. They can trade items or sale items or things like that. Guilds or Clans can also create a group message board that only group members can read or post messages. I designed the layout using css. Its actualy my frist time using css for layouting becuase i always use tables. for the website I created this banner which is my sig here in Xisto. This sig/banner is one of the only 2 banner/sig i ever created, the first one is a crap so i didnt use it. So what I need your skill and artistry for is if you are kind enough to create a banner for my website. Although I like my own creation but maybe those gurus out there can provide me a better banner free of charge and also you can say your critic to the site, although the only thing available is the front page only becuase I am still in the process of testing my PHP functions that handles database processess and request. If I can create my own utility software, if I can create my own reminder software or things like that with C++ or Visual Basic then there is no reason for me buy those things from companies who already have millions. If I can crack software and remove disk protection from games which I did not a long time ago, why bother waste money.besides, software company has nothing to do with viruses, not all realy becuase anti-spyware and anti-adware software company sometimes infect your computer with this spywares and adwares and trick you to buying their product, it happened to me, anyway going back to the topic. Even if sofware creation are left to companies as long as there is an available Assembler and Dissassembler software anyone with enough knowledge can create viruses. YOu dont need powerful programming language to create viruses. All you need is the two software mentioned and the knowledge in assembly programming. As the saying goes, what can be created can be destroyed. The assembled can be disassmeble.

This things happens. It is becuase of how we look in front of them. My experience was this sales clerk didnt pay much attention to me when I said I want to order a customize laptop worth $2300 for my friend. It maybe becuase I was just wearing a chuck tailor, a white shirt, pants and a back pack. So what I did was bring my friend who looks more mature than me, but still I did all the talking and the clerk pay little attention to me. There is no realy such a thing as CD copy protection. All technology and algorthm applied in the market are not realy protectin but simply fooling software or OS that reads the disk. All of them are just software which could be easily fooled by cracking its source code.The only way for CD protection to work is for manufacturer of CD ROM to support such technology. But all CDROM today simply read CD whether it has copyright or not. If for example a CD Burner does not allow burning or copying of CD or even software that has copyright, then perhaps your CD or software can not be distributed illegaly but of course no one will buy such a CD burner

yeah you should used 'localhost' if the mysql you are connecting is not in some other server in the web but in your webhost server. if your are using mysql in Xisto webhosting use 'localhost' as server, your cpanel name as user and your cpanel password as password. That should work.

the simples solution to your problem is for you not to be afraid, im not talking about the girl, im talking about your friend. you need to have a text editor that displays line number, I used EditPlus 2, its cool since it support PHP codes which mean different colors on globals, variables and functions, anyway, what you do is to have the same exact copy of the php in your website and the editor so when errors appear, you could simply locate it in the editor and then correct the error in the editor then upload the corrected file to your server. you could either use ftp or simply the upload feature in the filemanager.

hi everbody,I am creating this website for an online game KHAN which is of course hosted by Xisto.com. Anyway, it accepts membership since its services includes message board for every member and message board for groups that members created and of course personal messages.So here is my problem, since it accepts membership it requires applicants to fill up forms which ask their e-mail address, I want to know how make an activation code that is an image. Get my point? :ph34r:it is basically like here in Xisto where before you could click register or submit during registration you need to copy the numbers and letters in an image to a text box. I need this to avoid automated registration which can use up all my 150mb disk space or worst used my registration to annoy other people by using their e-mail add in the registration form.actualy I was thinking of creating hundreds or more images with numbers and letters on it. Everytime there is need to send the registration form to a browser i will pick 1 image randomly then change its filename randomly and put it in the registration form. In that case images will not use the same filename everytime it is used. But creating all those images (more thatn 100) is more than a headache. Thats why I'm hoping that someone could share to me how this kind of problem realy are taken care of.Thanks in advance

its not bad to turn on your computer 24/7 as long as it has proper fan system. I mean, your cpu of course must have a fan and besides cpu fan our casing too. If it has no fan leave it open then :ph34r:i dont think that electric bill is an issue since computer realy does not eath a lot of power, but if you connect an amplifier and a big speaker thats a different story..so its not bad leaving your computer on 24/7
