Which Shooping Cart Systems Have You Used? And which one do you reccomend?

I often used Joomla on most of my sites. I love it's interface and ease of use. I also have used many shopping cart systems to set up ecommerce sites.Personally I recommend VirtueMart for Joomla. I love it's interface, ease of setup, customization, layout, description boxes, item options, etc.OsCommerce was ok, and I found it can be used for a lot, but it has mainly turned into a whole site all by itself. I like it more when it was a plugin.What about you guys and gals?

Joomla is content management system not shopping cart system. Magneto, osCommerce and Zencart are the shopping cart systems. These three are what i have used for clients. Magneto community edition has nothing worth looking for. osCommerce is much better and in fact if you're in looking for quick fix then it's the one you should use. 3DCart, 1shoppingcart, Ejunkie and payloadz are the one that you should use if you don't wish to host the file and transaction on your server. Which i prefer because i'm using shared hosting using Xisto shared servers. Wordpress + paypal or any above mentioned payment processing solutions will work fine. Joomla is too heavy and complex for me, because i prefer to keep things simple than excessive complexity.

Good advice. Have you found all that you will use the same solution for each customer, rather a one stop deal? Or have you found that each customer required a variety or solutions? The reason I ask, is because I know each of those shopping carts has their advantages and disadvantages.

i always found the easiest to set up is paypal, but i abosultely HATE paypal! i don't recomend it to anyone unless you have no way in paying overhead. as far as the other carts, i don't have experience with them....

I have set up a few sites with Paypal, just because of the fact that it was easy. It did everything for ya, just cop the code.I personally like VirtueMart. I think, as a free shopping cart, it has everything you could want in one. osCommerce, I think is a bit heavy and complex. Now I could be wrong, i haven't used it in quite some time.Have they changed much in the releases of this shopping cart?
