Apparently Unlimited Means None Unable to Create E-mail Accounts

Recommended Posts

The e-mail account test@ mordent.co.uk with the login

Sorry, you have exceeded the maximum allowed email accounts. and password test with a quota of 10 megabytes was successfully created.

Somehow the big red bit (and yes, it is red on the screen) strikes me as a less than successful account creation. I've tried a good number of things (including changing the quota) and nothing's working. Interestingly, when I first created my account and had the domain mordent.astahost.com things worked absolutely fine.

Any ideas on what's up with it?

What is CPanel reporting as the amount of email accounts that you are allowed to have? Have you exceeded that amount? Otherwise it might be a server issue and the admins might have to have a look!

Thanks!Strange though, must be something to do with the server. Which account do you have (10 or 30 credit), cause my CPanel is coming up with Email accounts: 1/99

10 credit, but I'm trying to upgrade to 30 credit (waiting for an admin to go have a look in the upgrade request forum).

Both have unlimited email accounts, though, so I can't see the problem. It may be because I recently moved my domain from mordent.astahost.com to mordent.co.uk, which I guess would muck it up nicely. Still, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ still takes me to my site (nothing there yet), so I don't see why emails shouldn't work. :D

Yup, that's all it says at the moment. I'm trying to get e-mail account sorted before I get going with the addition off too much software.

Anyway, my account was approved here a few days ago. Since them I've changed my domain (from mordent.astahost.com to mordent.co.uk - which I registered the same day) and requested an upgrade to the 30 credit package here. Other than that, thanks for bringing it to the attention of those who can do something about it.

The 10 credits account shouldn't have unlimited email accounts last checked, so there must be something wrong with your cPanel account. I hope an admin floats to this post...

Hmmm, you sure? From http://forums.xisto.com/ :

I was under the impression that both starter (10 credits) and standard (30 credits) packages received all of that, the only differences between the two being the initial cost (obviously), the amount of online storage (500MB instead of 20MB) and the monthly bandwidth (10,000MB instead of 500MB). Still, I could be wrong.

Ah, this again. The server has for a long time had an issue with "unlimited". That is why most of the limits are 99 or 999 which is more than enough but gets around this issue. If you still haven't gotten this resolved, please do as velma suggested and send a support ticket.vujsa

It was sorted in my upgrade from Starter to Standard. Admiteddly (as you said) they're at 99 or 999 or whatever, but I tend to agree with you that 99 e-mail accounts should be enough for most people. :blink:Thanks!
