How To Swap L/r/ Speakers? Using a standard Audio port

I recently changed my motherboard (don't ask why - its a horrid story! ) Now, it has the audio jack(s) right onto it, with no connecting wires. I've connected standard desktop stereo speakers (2.0) to the Audio-OUT Jack (green). But, I happen to find out that my speakers are swapped! When the balance is 100% right, I hear from the left speaker!

 

Now, besides just interchanging the physical position of my speakers , can anyone suggest me a software solution to this? There's no use working with the hardware part, since I've been through the motherboard, and there's no internal connecting wires to interchange!

 

For your information, I'm using Microsoft Windows® XP Professional with Service Pack 2. I have installed a C-Media Audio Codec for AC'97 Audio. Of course, there's no option to swap speakers in its console either...

Why NOT just swap one for the other? You'd be done in about 3 seconds.

Ya, just swap the cord, you speaker system should have 2 cords that goes into the sound chip. Else, it shouldn't do that. I have the same soundchip you have.xboxrulz

ginginca, Yes, of course - I did swap my speakers now that I have this problem (in about 3 seconds too ) - But what about the times when I use my headphones? I certainly can't wear them the other way round, can I? (I've got the mic on it!)

is it realy that bad that the stereo signal is swapped ? And are you realy sure this also happens when you use your headset (btw. can't you turn the microphone in such way it's facing the other way ?).

For this problem you might want to just contact the manufacturer(if you get Indians then you're out of luck). Sometimes the people who are paid to build these things screw up. You might as well see if you can get a replacement if it really is a problem.

Oh, well.. I thought this problem was related with Software! And its funny to put your headset the other way round - think of what would happen to the mic! And it isn't that bad (I'm living with it) just that its human tendancy to get what the rest of the world has : a correct stereo output!

believe me, my stereo was swapped too . Luckily, I have a 5.1 wich is connected using a tulip connector wich made it very easy to swap the channels .
