Does Astahost Support POP-3 E-mail Accounts?

Recommended Posts

Even though I have an already open thread in the Hoster Members Support section, I thought opening an thread about this specific question may be helpful to future members.

In cPanel, when you create a new e-mail address, it can be accessed by WebMail, either using Horde or SquirrelMail...

My question is: Can I use a POP-3 client (Outlook, Thunderbird, Pegasus, etc.) to download my e-mail messages from Xisto's servers to my own computer?

Thanks a lot in advance .

Yep - it can be done. The email addresses you create are POP3 enabled by default.

You can access them at the standard POP3 port which is 110 using any email client like Outlook, ThunderBird etc.. The server address should be yoursubdomain.astahost.com.

NOTE: When you use POP3 access, you've to enter the login name is this format in your email client...

Say your email is: myemail@mysubdomain.astahost.com

The login name should be: myemail+mysubdomain.astahost.com

Password should be whatever you set your email password to.

You're right, m^e . I can get - and I already do have - SMTP functionality at GMail... I was just wondering about the limits of the services here at Xisto, because honestly, at times they seem limitless :).

By the way, I posted another question here: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/89508-topic/?findpost=1064343204=

Would you be so kind and take a look at it, please?

Thank you so much for being so helpful and friendly, m^e. I owe you big time.
