Website Made With Php help...

Recommended Posts

I want to create and interactive website, similar to 'Free Web Templates'

I do not have the knowledge to create such a website where users sign up, login, and have profile pages, also pages displaying their contributions....

If someone could create a base for this website for me, e.g, login page, mambers page, profile page, creations page and so on... which I can then change the layout and so on to suit my needs...

I can off a small amount of money for this, however, not alot.

Any response is welcome,

Thank you,

Craig.

Hello Craig.I myself am very new to web design, but got interested in it because of a good freind who's been playing around with websites for years now. He is always interested in something new and is usually willing to help people out. Can you give me a bit more detail on what sort of scale your website would be on. If it's going to be big he may not be able to fit it in, but if it's only a few page templates I will pass him the email address from your sig so he can get in touch. I should be browsing these forums fairly regularly so will try to get back to you asap.

All I need is simple page templates with the PHP code that makes the site work build in already, and working.

Bellow is an example of the pages needed:

index.php - home page,

userindex.php - welcome page after member logs in.

navigation.php - the navigation bar which will be shown on every page using the include function. also have the login form (after loggin in the login form will be replaces with a welcome note, eg. welcome [username])

profile.php - information on chosen member, including submitted content.*

members.php - list of members with links to their profiles.

templates.php - displays all submitted web templates.

banners.php - displays all submitted banners.

buttons.php - displays all submitted buttons.

interfaces.php - displays all submitted interfaces.

clipart.php - displays all submitted clipart.

*Each user will have a unique id no. So to veiw a members profile it coukd be profile.php?id=251 something like that...

All that seems like alot, but its not realy, I have a site wil over 50 pages...

Is that enough detail?

I have just emailed him your reply and a bit of explanation. It sounds like the sort of thing he would do, but I am just not sure what sort of time he has free at the moment with Christmas now and various work things he seems to be doing lately. The only other info I can think he might want would be how soon you need the stuff back, but I have already told him to let you know if he needs any more information from you. I think he is staying with family until 29th or so, so you may not get a reply from him for a few days, but I hope you work something out. If not, he may well know someone else to help. Best of luck with it in any case.

Craig, check out my site. Here are my message boards: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ . Do you want message boards similar to those? Those boards run on the Archetype 0 source modified by Golden Mario and Magus. There are other sources like whiteFyre but Archetype 0 is the best. In my opinion, it is better than Invision Power Boards and phpBB because they are uh.. unique? I have all of the files and I need your cpanel username/password to upload them. There are some errors, but not many. I would be willing to help. ;) I'll do it for free, but maybe a moderator position or something? Wait, you do want message boards like mine, right? ;)

Any time would be fine, Ive ordered some books on PHP, and have started learning it, I know some realy basic stuff, like showing IP and stuff, also some small scripts for sending e-mails and stuff...mike: No I dont want message boards, I want a sort of user and content managment system... Thanks anyway, Oh and do not ask for anyones password, that may result in a ban, just a warning.

You could always go to /cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi and make your own free board. It has many feautres including a member list, and many other things. I believe that they are very good boards (if you want 'freeboards' without a source). I could help you with it if you want me to? I mean, I used those for a while before I got Xisto to host me and made a great php site.

Alrighty, and sorry about that cragllo. I didn't know. v_v Also, if you want a user management system, I believe that in the cpanel there is some add-on script that has something like that.

Use a CMS. Content Management System is the best for you! Try PHPNuke, PostNuke, and Geeklog. But I really recommend PHPNuke. Try using it. If you need help in installing it, just give me your CPanel informations, and I'll install it for you. Then you can change the password later for security puposes. What do you think? ;)
