I Was Thinkign About This For A Website

Recommended Posts

What about a site totally devoted to people and their ideas for music videos. A site for just that. Everyone has done it. You hear a song you like, but no video, and you get tis really cool idea for one, and would love to make it happen. So you make a site called, oh I dunno, 'YoVideo' or 'MYOV- Make Your Own Video' and pick a song you like and make it the way you would liek to see it.There are a lot of songs by artists that have no videos, and since the video scene is dying, which once used to rule MTV, now has it's own place on the web.YouTube is just too full of crap that no one wants to see any way.You could have sponsers, and contests, and genres, etc.Any thoughts?

Good idea BUT... if you have an idea of that video thingy and you post your ideas on the website.. there is like 1% chance or less that the author of the song will hear you or make a video like you want.. I think it's nothing more then just a dream.. so my question is.. when such website will be made, how your going to make any video like this??

Well technically legally speaking, You can't get into trouble, because I would not be making money from it. But it would be there as a conduit for those who think they have the creative talent to become video producers. And if there is a 1% chance of that happening, then the website owner could become like a talent agent for those who have produced their own version of the videos.

lol if you want to make someone a video producer then he needs popularity, money and fame to make a vidoe for an popular song.. You can try making such thing but I think no big progress for it..I didn't said anything about you taking cash for it <_<..

But it's not about big production numbers, it's about the idea. If you are an amateur producer, and want the exposure than the website does that for you. This could become a hotbed for talent, a place for musicians new and old to find new innovative ideas for their music. Usually they only have a few choices to go with, and you have to admit that the videos now a days are run of the mill, out of the box generic. Why not put the kind of cinematography into music videos that they do into movies. The talent is out there, and it's just a matter of someone taking the time to implement a website to promote it.Then you could make money from that by becoming a payable conduit, via contact information of producers

I like your idea, I always had an idea of a video for a couple of songs like The Reason - Hoobastank and some Linkin Park videos but my ideas on Linkin Park videos weren't as great as theirs were. Joe Hahn rocks at video direction. He is a really creative human being! <_<

Just start the site and launch it. But I know it involves alot of hard work and a lot of money that you need to pour in at first which is not easy. That sort of site needs a lot of space and lots and lots of bandwidth since most videos will start from 20MB.

well first you would need to get a PPL internet licence, second you would need serveral extremly fast servers with a unmeterd transfer rate with media software installed. and thirdly you would have to invest so much money to get it off the ground. And to top it all off there is such a sitte called You Tube. so if you want to try in that area of the web good luck. It better thinking of it as a dream.

technically I'm not providing free music, I am providing a service for which ppl can express their creative talents. YouTube is yes a great service, but there is so much crap on there, no one wants to filter through all of it just to find somethign of interest to them. This would be a specific service. And the RIAA can kiss my big ol white butt. This kind of stuff has gone too far.And most copy laws state that media can not be copied and reproduced and redistributed to gain income. The files would be in a specialized player, that can not be copied locally to the End users hard drive. But I think it is completely plausible and could provide a decent income at some point and time via referrals and/or advertising
