What is a HTML editor? A HTML editor i basically a text editor but it has some advanced features. The important one being able to translate written text into HTML codes.Nowadays everyone uses HTML editors but still there are some guys doing it over a Text editorWhat do you fell about thisAt present iam creating a webpage with MS FP .It is user friendly and actually a very good tool for a beginner.Beginers look no further than FP.Also one cannot expect, atleast 99% ,a flop show from Microsoft. It has an integrated FTP. But all sites do not support FP extensions. Some other popular editors are PageMill,HotDog.Reply your views ;)

I would definately advise against Microsoft Frontpage. The HTML it turns out is not proper. If you end up reading this, it will really screw up how you edit HTML. The best editor I've used is Macromedia Dreamweaver, but it costs money to use. I'd say you should just get used to HTML in a simple editor, fooling around with making things. You should be able to get good enough to just code off the top of your head in notepad.I personally just use notepad, I know enough HTML that I don't need any WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) editors.

I'd echo that. Get yourself a text editor with added capabilities like advanced search and replace and different coloured code highlighting and you'll be fine.

Right there are many HTML editors these days. Go look at google search and you will find many types of those. Few of them being namo editor, macromedia dreamweaver, microsoft frontpage, etc.I was wondering what is MS FP when I saw first from the posting of the one who started this post. I felt you must be very friendly with microsoft frontpage which you fontly shortened as MS FP.As far as my experience is concerned I would recommend Macromedia Dreamweaver, go for Dreamweaver MX or anything above MX version. If you have known the ABC of HTML go for Dreamweaver, frontpage doesn't output the best code of html as well.

Dreamweaver and Golive are very good html editors, if you are happy with Golive, stick with it!I evaluated Golive 6 against Dreamweaver MX and had lots of crashes caused by Golive's internal ftp client, but this only seems to have affected certain windows configurations (you will find many posts on this in the Adobe forums). Also, the site management in Golive was much slower than in Dreamweaver.I liked the integration between Photoshop and Golive, but Photoshop and Dreamweaver work together fine, too.I just had problems with Golive 6 crashing all the time when using the internal ftp and like the Macromedia interface better, but if you are happy with Golive, there is no reason to change. You won't find new features in Dreamweaver that you don't have in Golive.

I don't use html on it's own nowadays as I know php and there are a lot more features included in php as opposed to the default, basic html language.

I do know, however, of a very good html previewer if you wanted to use the same kind of style of web-producing but wanted to view some kind of preview before you copied/pasted to notepad and then saved to your local computer ready to upload.

This html editor the w3schools website. It's a website specially written to encourage / help out those users who are wishing to learn knew website or other programming languages so the html editor is quite professional. A direct link to this site is: http://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?fie=tryhtml_basic.

I hope this helps. This was one of the editors i found when I was at school a few years ago. (No web-editing programs were installed then).
