Lubuntu

ubuntu is the name of a distribution of linux.

It has several versions.

A version that can be seen like a sort of a fast version is Lubuntu.

One of the reasons for the fast speed of Lubuntu is the desktop.

Lubuntu uses the lightweight desktop LXDE.

Other specifications are the light applications.

The focus of this version is speed and energy efficiency.

The website of Lubuntu states:

Lubuntu is a fast and lightweight operating system. The core of the system is based on Linux and Ubuntu. Lubuntu uses the minimal desktop LXDE, and a selection of light applications. We focus on speed and energy-efficiency. Because of this, Lubuntu has very low hardware requirements.

The name of the website is:

LXDE is a desktop, that uses a relative small amount of resources of the computer.

LXDE means: 'Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment'.

The website of LXDE states:

LXDE

The "Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment" is an extremely fast-performing and energy-saving desktop environment.

The LXDE desktop allows Lubuntu to work on old computers and old laptops.

Lubuntu rolls on computers and laptops with small specifications.

The specifications regard mainly the processor and the internal memory.

In the words of the website of LXDE:

LXDE uses less CPU and less RAM than other environments.
