velma 6 Report post Posted October 4, 2011 Just adding another update. Other than manual upgrades Official wordpress tutorial. You can upgrade by using the auto update option in your wordpress panel. If it asks you to submit your login details, you need to use ftp.hostname(domain/.com) cpanel username cpanel password What to do when Auto Update fails :- Deleting the upgrade folder in wp-content. Retry the update. Checking Permissions, Removing .maintenance file, Switching off Safe Mode and editing config.php I do remember using a plugin for my wordpress installation, the plugin basically fixed the error and let me auto update feature.
