Blackberry Phone Read Only Files Can't Be Deleted [solved]

i have a blackberry curve (8520) and i had some pictures on my sd card, i deleted them but the link to it on the phone gallery display are still there and i can't delete them...has anyone here come across this issue before on their blackberry handset?
